Some good advice in here. It's hard to keep your cool, especially riding in Houston.

When I lived in Orange, IH10 was 2 lanes. Had a guy try and pass me in the shoulder out of nowhere. I was already doing around 90. He was in a big 3/4 ton truck, and needless to say he couldn't outrun my little srad. Just turned the throttle a tad and laughed at him. I remember him talking on his cell phone, looking at me like "wtf is my problem". ...

You know, I seem to have this problem where things like wheel weights and old spark plugs just fall out of my pockets.

Its the damndest thing, but it only seems to happen when I'm in front of some cager who has just done something truly stupid....

I have been known to put down the kickstand at a light and walk back to the cager and remind him that A) It is MY lane too, B) I have as much right to the road as he does, C) Saying he didn't see me is not an excuse, D) A fender-bender may well kill me, not just cause a trip to the body shop and last but not least, E) Unless he is just feeling a need to get his beaten, an apology is in order.

Pass me in my own lane? I will probably follow you and make sure you get an education.

Someone did that to me on 290 heading towards TWS (Texas World Speedway) in fair traffic - large 1st Gen Expedition SUV. They were on the right lane and merged into the middle lane with no signal and I was on the left lane well behind. I sped up and, like you, I usually choose the side closest to the center of the lane to ride on so I was passing the SUV closely. Next thing I know the SUV enters my lane and passes me within my own lane on the left side. I looked at them but they didnt look back at me, downshifted and hauled . You never know what's going on in people's minds so I just wanted to distance myself from that situation.

And like you, I want to get a camera and record as much as I can so whenever I become the victim of someone else's stupidity (and hopefully survive), I will have evidence. There won't be any, "oh he was popping wheelies and doing 160mph" bullshit if cops are involved. I have had people accuse me of 'racing or driving fast' in my ricer and cops of course will side with the other driver because of appearances. Can't argue with video.

If I had video of that SUV doing that to me, I would have put it on Youtube and reported it to the police.

Oh and someone else (another SUV surprise surprise) decided it was ok to do the same thing at a 0mph/traffic exit. I looked at them and they looked at me like they weren't doing anything wrong. As they teach you in MSF, distance yourself from unpredictable motorists.

I've never had this happen, when I pull up at lights I generally move to the center or semi center of the lane to prevent people from going past me, but I have never had this happen while driving, it sure would me the off though!

I get that a lot... but having a car behind you at a light and as soon as that light turns green the just passes you then he's asking for something...
