I don't know if it's been said already, but depending on your current level of physical fitness a trackday can be hard on your body. Along with the water everyone mentions it's good to have a banana or two to help fight muscle cramping and enough carbs the night before to give your body the fuel to get through an entire day of 20 minute sessions. 20 minutes doesn't seem like a long time, but working hard on a bike it can feel like forever.

When you get fatigued near the end of the day is when you're more likely to make a mistake that can hurt.

$30 to set up your suspension at the track by a supporting vendor. If you haven't had it done yet it WILL make a world of difference.

You could start doing squats if you don't already exercise because your legs will be fatigued.

It will be warm enough to run almost anything. The last track day at GSS I ran intermediate with a BT-016 front / BT-023 rear combo

You're going to get plenty of different opinions on tires.

I'd suggest PMing SCRCJohn. He's a dealer and extremely knowledgeable about the tires he sells. He has good prices, great service, and is available on site at most TDs.

His advice is worth listening to.

South Central Race Center and P1 Racing will not be on site providing trackside support but we will still offer Bridgestone and Pirelli tires provided by SCRC, and have a tire machine to mount them for you.

IMO, as long as you have plenty of tread and the correct air pressure you should be fine in novice

If you ride the streets too then I'd go with Bridgestone BT-016 front and rear. They're great tires for novice track and spirited pace street riding
