Take it easy, ENJOY your first track day. You're not out there to break records or drag knee.

That's a good checklist.

I would also add to be sure you bring all of your gear, key to your bike (people have forgot them), sunblock, a canopy, extra gas, tool set, lawn chairs, snacks and lots of water and maybe a few Gatorades.

Be open minded and don't be afraid to ask the instructors a lot of questions.

See ya there

-Fuel; fill your tank, bring two 5 gallon cans too. You may not use it all but it's better than running out.

-Lights / turn signals etc.; remove or tape up your turn signals, tape up your taillight and headlight, remove the fuses or unplug the wiring. Most bikes have a plug in the tail section for the taillights. I use blue painters masking tape to tape my lights with. You can get it at most auto parts stores or Sears Hardware / Home Depot.

-Remove your mirrors. You can fasten the upper back down with bolts and washers, zip ties, or mirror block off plates.
Get to the track early, bring food, refreshments, Advil or something similar, chairs, a fan, change of clothes, tools (if you have them), leathers, boots, back protector, gloves and helmet, extra shield and ear plugs. If you don't have leathers or boots you can rent them here:

Very Important.....

my list...
Bike Prep:
-Fill bike up with gas
-Take off mirrors
-Tape all lights and reflectors (blue painter's tape, not duct tape)
-Disconnect headlights
-Check oil level, brake fluid level

Trailering bike:
-Canyon Dancer
-Tie Downs
-Rags to make sure Tie Downs don't rub
-Gas money for whoever is trailering me.

Other stuff to bring:
-Motorcycle key (Do not forget!)
-Bring 5 gallon gas can full to track
-Advil
-Camera
-Ear Plugs (A must, ridesmart sometimes has them for free)
-Helmet
-One piece leathers
-Back protector
-Over the wrist gloves
-Motorcycle boots
-Tire pressure gauge (good one, not a pencil style)
-Change of clothes/shoes
-Blue painter's tape
-Exacto knife
-Zip ties
-Water, gatorade, cooler
-Clif bars, bananas, snacks
-Sunglasses
-Phone charger
-Allen wrenches
-Camping chair
-Drop a deuce at home
-Pop up tent (depending on track paddock space)
-Sunscreen (depending on month of track day)
-Fan (depending on weather)

Oh.. also...
Try to go to sleep the night before and don't try to stay up like a kid waiting for Santa.

and the most important part about this is to take 3-2 days on getting the bike ready for it....

Have fun!

...... One more time, it's not a race. There will be no trophy, champaign, or umbrella girls. Have fun and come home in one piece. It's a blast and everyone should try it.

Keep in mind that GSS does not have a powered paddock area. If you plan on bringing anything that needs electricity you will need to bring the appropriate power source to run it.

If you're just bringing a fan you may get lucky and pit next to someone with an open plug on their generator.

if you're trailering thats great, bringing gas, tools, extra stuff, tons of water, rearstand, chair, ez up, cooler, all that jazz... its nice to be able to have.

if you're riding out there just suit up, bring water, tape and whatever else you can stuff in the backpack and you're as golden as it gets. bring cash in case you wanna buy something off someone.
