Do I have the right to complain about a cop?

just recently I got a ticket for no front plate. the first lie the cop told me was "there is no charge, just show you have a front plate and you can leave with no fees due." well I found out I still have to pay a court cost, and then I prolly wont even get the ticket dismissed.

I got my ticket 8/30. he said my court date is 3 months from that date. I just got a letter telling me my court date is on 9/26.

THIS IS NOT 3 MONTHS! do I have any way or right to put a complaint in about him and his stupidity? hopefully get a mark put against him or some ? this is not fair that cops can get away with anything.

I honestly never looked at the ticket (my fault, yes) I just figured I would take care of it as I got closer to the date. it says 9/26. Thats still bullshit lieing. He said it more then once, cause he was giving me that "i dont give a " cop attitude, he just kept saying "well court date is 3 months from now, so your just gonna have to get it taken care of then.

btw.. the sooner you fix the problem and show proof... the better off you are... just fix it, take a picture, print it out...then go stand in the long line... and then be on your way...

Actually they'll more than likely reschedule the court date to his scheduled Court day, and he will then be making overtime $$$ while sitting in A/C. Get a plate somewhere that's visible from the front of the car or get pulled over again later on...

You can't file a complaint for this. He's not obligated to give you legal advice just to give you a ticket and say 'goodbye'

Court cost is like $10.

Take a picture with the front plate on and take it to court with you. Should drop it. As for miscommunication, sorry about your luck, read the ticket next time. They use to average 3 mo. Their getting better.

If it is a Houston case and you want to fight it...
You will sit there all day and have the case rescheduled, and then come back here and let us all know how you are.

The PoePoe will be like SWEEEEET Court O.T. FTW. time and 1/2 to hang out.

I think the take a Picture and show it in court is the way to go.

FYI - I.A.D. will not take a complaint about a traffic ticket, they will tell you to take care of it in court... see above...

What kind of car were you driving? It looks like harassment from the cop and could not find anything to get you on but the front plate.

I was riding one night and the cop pulled me over and said that he did not see the inspection sticker and I showed him the sticker on the swing arm and he let me go, after 30 minutes of warrant and crime search. Stupid sssssss.
