wont start

its a 2001 vstar 650 classic. has good gas now, battery charged, new plugs. im drawing a blank on what else to do. she bought it a couple days ago and had problems keeping it starting. it had gas and fresh battery although it has set up for 4 years before she baught it. excuze my typing after my bedtime. gonna pop the tank and check the ignition coil since i think thats thenext culprit. open to any and all suggestions. no pms please just lay it out here for me. its not mine or i would know what wrong, and havent worked on one in 7 years. thx for and and all help and this is for a new female rider who hangs with htown folk. so when she gets fixed, she will come be hangiin with yall.......................wayne

If it sat for 4 years more than likely the carbs will need to come off, be fully disassembled and cleaned.

Those carbs have to be screwed. If you mixed the new gas with the old, it's bad news.

she rode it home after she jump started it, ran fine. got to a friends and wont start. no spark, changed the plugs, new gas, plugs are getting gas front more than rear. how often do the ignitions coils go out? thx again for yalls help.......wayne

Maybe run a hot wire from the battery to the coil and see if you get spark then
