Broken footpeg bracket 07 ZX6R

2007 Kawasaki ZX6R

one strange thing happened to me the other day while i was riding. at one stop my right foot goes all the way down so i looked and my foot peg along rear break pedal and part of the bracket attached to its hanging. i pulled over and looked closer it turns out the bracket is broken and missing a bolt.

we can see the crack in this picture

030b9b1f

it broke all the way

as a result my rear break light switch snapped off as well. so manage to do a temporary fix by using another bolt to keep the bracket together and here it is.

2a4beae6

so i have to replace this part ( the bracket) but i have never worked on bikes before so i really dont know how to approach it. it seems like a simple bolt on repair but im scared to something up. specially the rear brake thing.. also i dont know where to get the parts from ( a dealer, online store, local shops?)

can anyone sort of point me in the right direction here

Your dealer should have one is stock. Anytime I buy a bike I also purchase a shop manual for that specific bike. Never hurts to have one on hand.

And if you really don't wanna mess with it give Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited a call. But this is just a bolt and a bracket so it's really easy to fix.

It's an easy fix, and a common part to break on Kawis. Most Kawasaki dealers stock the part.
