looks pretty good, decent side ding on left tank side but nothing else that showed rash or that immediately seemed to demonstrate having gone down at any speed. Front seemed kinda want to nose/bounce on braking... but then clips on etc on a bike im not used to... I can't say definitively it wasn't me needing to adjust to brakes on the bike.

I think they agreed on 2500... but the exchange won't take place til this weekend.

Even putting stiffer springs in there helps heaps. I put .90s in with 15w oil and its a million times better. Now I wanna get the intimators or whatever theyre called too.

What year front end??? I'd like to ditch my damper rod forks (even with the racetech goodies, it's just not the same as a good set of cartridge forks).

My set up is .95 springs with adjustable preload caps and gold top emulators... it's WAY better now, but I'd still rather go to an inverted cartridge setup.

How much???

That was taken care of prior to him looking for a bike...

Ins and title transfer are next before he goes anywhere beyond our street with an escort... and then, it's going to be cones and a parking lot for awhile.

We did one loop, my driveway down the street aounrd the block and back so I could assess. Needs a bit more practice to get used to the bike.

Thats awesome! He'll remember all this, and always be thankful for it.

My Mom and I took the MSF when I was 17, and have been riding together since!

I'm said 'kid' and I'm pretty stoked about finally having my bike; I announced I was going to get one around christmas and started saving, haha.

My friends have so far had nothing but negative comments for it, probably because they imagine themselves on a supersport from day one...

Word, I caught all sorts of flack for getting a SV650. Best advice I have heard is: It is your FIRST bike, not your last. While some people can get a SS bike and be just fine, but there is a large number of people who got in over their heads and now are not around to see their second.

Sidenote, you have a bike and I assume they do not, you are already cooler than they are.

One of them just recently had a run in of the 100+ mph down cypresswood (a 35 mph road) kind with the cops, (luckily?) he ran and escaped.

The other.. Has a very 'loud' vehicle, and actually asked me when we were throwing hid's/led's on the bike the first time he saw it.

I'm a delivery driver and put several thousand miles on a 5spd saturn every month.. speed on the street lost it's appeal somewhere in there.
