A champagne colored Honda Elite 250. I think the year was an 80 something.

Rode them in the past, they were all 2 stroke and a lot of them had built engines. One guy was even running a mid 13 in the 1/4 mile on it. pretty scary stuff with those tiny wheels.

You could not pay me to ride one now, I live far enough out they are not practical, and I consider them even less safe than a motorcycle at freeway speeds. If I lived in say LA, Chicago or NYC then I could see a practical use for a scooter...but Texas? Not a chance...

Seriously dude - come on... the ridiculousness of that statement is epic in my opinion. That’s like saying "I have a Porsche and a Viper in the garage, but I really PREFER my Toyota Prius!!"

Plain and simple - your own poll shows the truth. You are suggesting that we are all posers and that only "real" riders would, could or do ride automatic "bikes" as you put it. If I want my feet flat on a floor, I'll get in my truck. If I need something with me that won't fit under the seat - I'll put it in a backpack. I like performance. I like a machine that has more potential than I'll likely ever discover. I would dare say I could ride a "scooter" right there with you and never loose any ground. Can you mount a Ninja and say the same? If I didn't care what I rode - I might consider a scooter. Problem is... I DO care. It's a lifestyle. If your "scooter" is a lifestyle... um.... more power to ya, but I think you joined the wrong forum. Your poll proves it.

If I could run a 9 second 1/4 with a 1.5 60', I would think about it.

sorry dude but you still have no logic with your poll... you are asking if we've ever owned one... I don't think thats very valid of a question... for example I had a Honda Ruckus I bought brand new and sold a month later b/c I hated it... I lived 3 blocks from campus so it was just something supposed to be fun to ride... ya that didn't work out and I promptly went back to riding my bike to school...

have you even posted a picture of these 30k miles on your odometer?

I owned a 2004 Yamaha Vino 125 while working in NYC.
It was awesome(!) and it got me hooked on scooters.

I'm actually in the market to buy another Vino 125, just haven't seen any great deals on CL yet.

I haven't had one but wouldn't mind getting one.

That should be an option on your poll.
