got the title today! time to dump money lol.

what kinda color scheme would look good? i was thinking traditional red and white honda. powder red frame/swingarm and white accents and such but im open to suggestions. mostly everything works as far as electrical just need to replace 2 fuses. tranny shifts ok (just turning wheel/shifting) got some pretty good spark overall.

only problem is im getting low compression on far left cylinder... 50psi. the rest is around 110-130. i poured some tranny oil in the cylinders to let them soak overnight, we shall see what happens tomorrow.

Check the valve clearance too. I've seen tight valves lower compression significantly.

i'll have to look into that too. it actually went up a bit. first pass i hit 30 (ran it 3 times) then went to the other cylinders and came back around it then went up to 50. there was some rust on the intake port. sprayed some WD/PB in the port, let it sit for a bit and it didnt go down. i'll probably pull the exhaust and take a look at the ports too.

many months pass by and he comes back and saids "hey i'll take 200 for it." i said ok i'll think about it. i dont really need another project bike and could use the time that im going to spend on it drinking and such.

skip to today he comes in for an oil change and tells me "hey u still want the bike?" i tell him "not really i dont really want/need a project." he replies "well i'll just give it to ya..." cool i'll come get it later when im off

so its a CB something... i have no clue what it is... he does have a title. i have seen it and held it, he just couldnt find it when i picked it up. 750, 900, 1100? 1982 or 1983 (older than me) anyone know of a site that i can check what all i have.

what i do know (that i think matters)

I4 DOHC
single front disc (some had dual)
spoked wheels
13 cooling fins on block+head (ive heard this differentiates the cc's)
1982 or 1983 not sure, have to see title or check vin later (apparently thats when they switched "series"
thats all that i can remember at the moment that i think matters

pics WILL be posted later. this will probably be a fun-ish build, i plan to restore its glory.
Post some Pics, Gramp's here will try to bypass the altzheimers

I just wanted to throw in my opinion on the color scheme. . .Honda used a lot of red and gold in the 80's. You already mentioned red and white so. . .I think you should get tim to pc some of those parts white basecoat with gold flake on top. I think it would look killer and still be almost "period correct". Your opinion may differ

tore into the carbs today:

2ds04rm
2d288zq
nasty .
compression is all over the place now from 70-130. so im sure this motor isnt trashed. i blame variations in available cranking power because im running cables to my car for cranking/testing and starter solenoid is deteriorating.

honestly i never understood the concept of owning/riding an old car/bike, but now that i have one i think i get it. for me anyway i think its a representation of history that you can drive/ride.

honda's are sweet rides though.

jet: i bought some pinesol last night. but im curious as to what the mixing ratio is. ive seen your post and it shows a 2:1 ratio; 2 part pinesol, 1 part water. but also searching online they say to use 1:3 because it makes the aluminum dull or something. can anyone clarify?

update: it runs now! cleaned the carbs, cleaned gas tank, installed an inline fuel filter, new plugs, wires, new pod filters, new fluids, new choke/speedo cable, new battery, and new bulbs in the cluster. thing is loud and mean. just a little bit more and it will be street worthy.
