This Weekends Trackdays

How was your trackday this weekend...Where did you ride? How did you do? What did you learn?

I went to TWS (Texas World Speedway) with Ridesmart two day weekend!

Rode with Level one peeps..I had a blast this weekend kinda windy but all in all I stayied on 2 wheels..

I got to run a few hot laps in level 3 that I was not too excited about just cause I think I was too tired from riding 2 days and lost my mental concentration

I learned never put up a tent on a windy day

Rode Talladega Gran Prix Raceway. I had the chance to work with one of the best suspension guy again-lenny albin, AMA Pro Racer Tim Hunt, Jake Lewis and Luie Zendejas-KWS Motorsports Sponsored Riders. I'll post the link to my blog after some much needed sleep and get some pics from the pg's out there.

Rode my 2nd trackday with Fastline at GSS on Sunday. Was told I can move out of Novice next time if I wanted to, and I want to. Lightweight here I come on my SV650! And I'll have shiny new suspension bits next time around so I can hardly wait.

And I learned the tent/e-zup lesson too. Or at least my friend did with the expense of my cover. We'd have been just fine but for some reason he extended the legs on the upwind side which let the wind get under it and took it over. If he had just let me pick up the downwind side only and then anchor the upwind, we would have been ok. Lesson learned: be specific on what you want somebody to do when they try to lend a hand!

I reached the limits of the saddle on my Aprilia as far as body position is concerned. The only way for me to get down any further is drop my beer gut. So in the meantime, its time to focus on another aspect of my riding.

Rode with Ride Smart on Sunday @ TWS (Texas World Speedway).
Trackday was great! Not much downtime at all. Props to the event staff, instructors and especially the Track Marshall.

Special Props to Pyrobug and AJ for giving me some good advice. Went faster than I ever have at TWS (Texas World Speedway). Worked on getting out the corners quicker and staying on it in the straights instead of riding my faster corner speeds around the track.

All in all a great day, except for the guy who yelling in class about getting passed in the straights.

It's a trackday at a racetrack dude.....not a MSF class.

Literally.

The instructor said if you aren't comfortable with the speeds...get off the track. (No black flags were thrown all day in my lvl from my understanding)

I rode TWS (Texas World Speedway) on the 9th... it was a wreck extravaganza..

Lots of down time.. lots of wind.

i rode too tense after a highside save going into the left hander out of the horseshoe, that pretty much screwed me the rest of the day...

i know what i got to work on now..

Sounds like fun. Really wish I could have been there. Every trackday this season has either been right before an exam, or when my bike wasn't track-worthy

I'm fiending man, I'm fiending!

Did GSS with Fastline, and following Godsuki and Skid learned (once again, why do I always forget?) that smooth makes for fast.

I learned that the Diablo Superbike Pros make for sticky fun, even without warmers.

I learned that John and Brandon at P1 racing know a thing or two about suspension as well as tires.

Also, accelerating into the back straight I learned why I might want to go to GP shift.

On my LSTD/TWS (Texas World Speedway) Street Class TD last year, I enjoyed having people pass me outside (and even inside) of corners or buzz by me...it doesn't get more real than that If he doesn't like people passing him on a straight, I mean...come on

Thats awesome. I wonder what he was riding.

There was one kid having a lot of trouble getting round the track at speed in a red/silver CBR.

If thats your bike in your signature, I believe I have some pics of you going round the track. Send me a PM to remind to look tonight and I'll email them to you. I remember the checkered headlights.

Yea it was...even an instructor went down. It wouldn't have been quite so bad if it wasnt for the mess of coolant that took forever to clean up.

No clue what he was riding. That convo was right after the first free session. Hope he finished the day and got used to it though. It was just funny to hear it the way he said it.

Yeah, I had the checkered tape on yesterday. Let me know if you have any good ones, I'll be sure to credit you if I use them.
