HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston police officer crashed his cruiser while chasing after a pair of motorcycles overnight.

The crash happened at Belle Park at Carvel on the southwest side of town. Police spotted the two motorcycles racing on Richmond. Officers chased after one rider who took off at speeds of 90 miles per house down the Sam Houston Tollway. Police chased him into a neighborhood where one officer ran off the road hitting a metal pole.

The suspect escaped by driving over a foot bridge. The officer was not hurt.

You shouldn't believe everything u read on the news...much of it is hyped up...

The motorcycles where weaving in and out of traffic at high rate of speed. Rider had his feet dangling on the ground and had almost lost control a couple of times.

funny how people jump all over the cops for doing their jobs but no one questions why they ran in the first place and lead police on a 15 min chase...

I have no side in this other than to ask if you think that cops aren't ever guilty of embellishment either.

This.

I've been pulled over for ""racing"" and it was just me and my buddy sharing a lane doing 5 over the limit on the interstate.

Sheriff Buford T. Justice ran off the road chasing the bandit and Roscoe P. Coltrane did too chasing them Duke boys many times. Was it the runners that caused this or sheriff Justice and Roscoe driving over their heads?

I was accused of running cause the bike cop took for ever to catch me after getting stuck behind a pile of traffic. I got ticketed for going 10 over which got tossed for some clerical error. He was yelling and hollering and going on and on.

I told him that I wasnt trying to be disrespectful but if I was running, the time he saw me pass him would have been the last time he saw me. I was going the speed limit when he caught up with me and I had no clue he was coming after me. He calmed down after a few and agreed I wasnt running.

Either way I"m saying kudos to the bike riders for number 1 not stopping I wouldn't stop. And 2nd for makin them crash you have to admit that was badass. And for the jokers wanting to know why they ran in the first place cuz some people dont like cops. His registration might be out or he just might want to ride and have a warrant. Police are always trying to stop people from having a good time. Either way I look at him for being a trooper and ditching their .
