I will disagree on this one as will most of your senior riders I think. I have been riding off and on well over 10 years and took this class. I learned from it. So it is a bid deal in most peoples eyes.
I do agree get on the road and practice practice practice. But please dont act like the course is no big deal as most here and since majority rules will argue it is.

Congrats on the course. The bike looks great also

Do you care to explain what you mean by "MSF is not a big deal?" I am always fascinated when I hear things like this.

Squirrel - Congratulations. It is an accomplishment for sure.

Thanks again for all the congrats, thats really awesome!! I have to agree that being a newbie to this I do need LOTS and LOTS of riding time practicing and still have so much to learn about riding and am very excited about doing so. To me the MSF course was a big deal it taught me so much about myself and about riding.

No we are still working her confidence for highways. Also, i'm a gear , as she will attest, so no pool shoes. I won't even let her ride 2 up with me without full gear. Anyway, sidetracked ...

I agree, MSF is a big deal. Trooper can attest the other night when she locked up the front real quick and recovered on a public road with traffic. Thats a testament to what people teach and learn in MSF. I wanted to do it again with her, and it's still fresh in my head thats how good it is in my opinion. You can never work fundamentals enough!!

MSF is necessary but not an achievement. It makes sure you have the MINIMUM knowledge/experience necessary to ride a bike. If learning the MINIMUM is an achievement, then, well good for you, another reason to party!

If you ride a bike 10 years and still find MSF useful you were doing it wrong.

Thanks, that was my main point. MSF means nothing without practice, practice, practice, to gain experience (unless you do it wrong, then its called picking up bad riding habits)...

If its a big deal for you or for her, that's all that matters regardless what the majority votes for...
