Got lit up today...

Not too much details, but I was riding 2-up being followed by a couple on a cruiser going about 70 (they were gaining on me) coming around a corner on 1484 and lo and behold there was a cop sitting around the corner!! Instinctively, i rolled off the throttle and as i do i see him turn his lights on, oh he got me... As I continued looking in my mirrors, he never does a u-turn before i go around the next curve, so at that point I wasn't about to slow down, and neither did the cruiser behind me. Needless to say I took the nearest detour and made it home safe. scary stuff

this

sometimes the warning flash is better than turning around and having some squid take off on you and kill themselves or someone else

I am not saying i ran or anything, just that I wasn't gonna wait for him to u-turn and come pull me over. I would never run. I was only going 10-15 over, it was just startling

I don't think running on a 250 on a long straight like 45 is too smart

Funny story...

Was cruising along headed South out the the Forest... come up a hill and the radar started hollering so I rolled off... top the hill and here comes Mr Moto Sherriff.. on come the lights and I glance in the mirror and see him slowing and starting to pull a u-ey.

So I cruise along and find a safe spot to pull off.. I was going 75 or so by my speedo when I got the radar alert

So I sit and wait... and wait,, and wait some more... about this time I start to think "oh , hope he didn't dump it trying to turn around"..

I am about to go back to check on him and he finally shows... pulls up next to me and says " dude, I didn't expect you to stop" and I tell him I was worried about him dropping it and he starts laughing.. and says his clutch hung in the middle of the road.. LOL!!!

He says slow it down and ride safe and we roll on out...

Running from the cops is not good, but it is fun for the police

Santa Fe seems to give warning flashes regardless of speed. I get them even when I'm doing the limit.

ive had a bike cop, not moto, but like a huffy, pull me over. they said i was speeding but from where they were, being on a bicycle they couldnt have seen me, and gave me a warning. This was on the drag at UT, back in the college days. for a split second i thought about disregarding them b/c i thought it was some rentacop since he was on a bicycle, but then i saw his firearm, and decided it was prudent to pull over. haha

For 70 mph he lit you up??? That's ridiculous... I get passed by duallies towing work trailers on my morning commute if I'm going 70 (the speed limit out here in the boonies 55-60 for the most part) ... he probably just has a thing for writing tickets to sport bikers... I see that a lot... Cali and a buddy of his have a good story about a state trooper that pulled a bunch of us over last spring on 359 for going 65 in 60... he was just a douche who rides a VTX and wanted to tell us our sport bikes weren't "real bikes". I don't remember the name of the guy who got the warning ticket, but I thought for sure he was going to deck that cop... I notice I never get pulled over on the cruiser... but one leg over a sport bike and it's like I have a target on my bike for the cops.

Glad you didn't get a ticket all the same...

idk. most of the time they are just busy headed to another call and or don't want to fool with you.
