I loved when I drove thru NM and it was 85 I had a freakin field day, although most here already travel that fast. Who ever posted up earlier was right.. we stay ahead of the group so that we dont get ran over. So we might get pushed to 90-100, and im ok with that myself but man... more rip threads.

I can't see them doing that with gas being so called tight supply. we pay enough now at 70.

I agree with you, but who knows, maybe the oil companies may lobby for this. I also disagree with the idea of a significant increase of RIP threads because these limits will be posted outside of the the city

You do realize that its a speed LIMIT, correct? If you're concerned for economy, you don't have to go that fast. I think minimum freeway speed is an unstated 45mph.

I believe you're correct on the 45 minimum.

And yes, 85 would be the upper limit. If you don't want to go 85, just KEEP YOUR OUT OF THE LEFT LANE, and let others who do pass you by. You can arrive later with a fatter wallet.

great, now we can have more signs going out of town that say 35..45...55...70...85 mph speed limits.

We have too many signs along the roads now.

I am sure Perry has some sign maker in his pocket - so our state tax dollars can be funneled to another perry buddy instead of doing useful work.

if the speed limit goes up to 85 i will people off in my truck since i set the cruise control at 60-65 and no higher. i stay in the right lane or if that lane unless lots of people getting on and off the freeway then i am one from the right. I still get passed on the right daily, many times I am the slowest vehicle on the road. When I ride I really do not pay any regard to speed limits unless law enforcement is present or the conditions limit my speed.

raising the speed limit would increase risk for motorcyclist. Drivers can barely handle the 70mph limit.

Think of the squids and how they'll turn out if swiped. What about the Asians that already cant drive slow!
