Cool 85 MPH PROPOSED SPEED LIMIT FOR TEXAS

Hey guys , if you look at channel 13 on line news there is a segment that a law might be passed for 85 mph on certain highways in Texas.
What are your thoughts on that ?

I'm pretty sure there was something posted about this a few weeks/month ago, and I believe it was only set to happen outside of the city limits - something like outside of the beltway or something like that, I forget.

Think it is a waste of money, they already years ago passed a law that was 75-80 mph and then changed it back. So not change it again, what a waste of money. O well I am all for it going to 85, never really pay much attention to speed unless it is a school area, neighborhood, or radar goes off....

Sounds like an april fools joke. That's a lot of lost income for the state.

Horrible idea though.

let them do engineering surveys. the speed should be set at that normal speed that 85% of people would drive if there was no speed limit. i could almost guarantee that speed on a lot of interstates is well over 70. most people do 75-80 already and that's only because the speed limit is 70 and they don't want a ticket.
