I havent had problem, mine is tucked way under the tail, if i have a passenger on it you cant see it at all, but i put the reflectors on it and the headlights shine it up so it been no problem so far, just need to get the light hooked up.

my take on that is that people that hide their tags or make them hard to read... they do that so cops can't get their tag #'s when they run.
if thats the case what difference does it make

Maybe so.....but my take on it is, havent had any problems with it yet....bought this bike used and it already had the undertail plate, and i dont want to spend the money to fix it if im not getting harrased(maybe cuz i dont ride like and idiot), but the only thing that is stated about the plate is it must be visable, have reflectors and a light that illuminates the plate at night.

So its all in what they feel is visable.

if you don't want to deal with cops pulling you over don't do it. Illegal as it stands.
