i didn't read all the previous posts, but here's my view. I think it's safe to saw we dont live in/ visit the areas where many of these murders happen. Houston has it's shaddy areas that the vast majority of the city's population probaly never visits. So for there to be more than 1 murder per day on avg. sound right to me in a city of several mililon

A few facts from the tables linked to earlier...

Regarding Fatalities...

50/50 dying on a weekend or during M-F
2:1 death on no helmet vs helmet
Having vs not having a M License: 299 to 195. (guess the license doesn't save lives)

BTW, 48 died on bicycles last year...roughly 10% compared to motorcycles.

Really? You realize that 50% more without a license died than those with, right? 50% is a pretty significant difference.

I think Tuberider keyed in on the 50% portion without realizing "more" added considerable context to the math. You'd have probably been better off drawing a diagram. With pop-ups and a coloring section.

^^ or the vast majority of riders HAVE a license. if 80% have M license, of course the amount of deaths will be higher

Yeah, I really wasn't thinking about it. I was just already in the mindset that it made sense more deaths were not license holders...but really that statistic pretty much means nothing unless you compare it against percentage of total riders that have their license vs. don't.
