636 or zx6

I admit - I don't know the "main" difference. I'm interested because I want another track bike. Is it engine size? 636 vs 599?? 2cyl vs 4cyl?
I'm a painter - not a gearhead so I'm a little duh.

they are both 600 cc bikes. I have the zx6, but will admit they are a little weaker than the 636. I would get that one if I could if I was you.
I love my zx6r but im a street not track.. IE i dont want to get ran over by all them bastards and since I dont like corners I would get ran over lol

A ZX-6R and 636 are the same thing as long as you're talking 2003-06. They went back to all 600's starting in 2007. The 2003-06 models that are true 600's are ZX-6RRs.

The ones marked 636 are actually 636 cc, and called "cheater 600's". If I recall they had a rule that allowed 650 inline fours, but shortly after the 636 came out they changed it to 600 max.

They make a little more torque than a 599-598

The wheelbase on the 07-08 shows to be .6 inches longer at 55.3 inches. Don't know of anyone swapping the 636 engine into the later models though. If you're wanting 636 power, why not just buy a 636 to begin with?
