Real danger of Suzuki recall?

Ok so I really want to ride but I am have been waiting to do a real ride until I can get the rectifier recall done on my bike.

What is the real risk of this part failing causing a problem? -

both the likelihood of it failing and the possible consequences?

Motorcycling in itself is not inherently dangerous. But to an even greater degree than the sea, it is terribly unforgiving of any carelessness, incapacity or neglect.

It just wont allow your bike to charge correctly.
Worst case scenario it could get extremely hot and i have seen one pop and actually smoke. Not sure if they have ever caused a fire or not.

the danger is that your bike can just shut off at any time. it might be as you're turning into a gas station or it might be mid corner on a blind turn with traffic going both directions. I guess it just depends how lucky you think you are.

whats the hold up on getting it taken care of? Why not just get a replacement unit if you "really" want to ride? Easy swap.

I have called and I am waiting on the shop to get the part in so they can perform the recall.

I would look at it from a safety pov rather than a $$$/time pov.
Better to wait a couple of weeks than to be down a couple of months.
