Hayden's first pole of the year.
Rossi did a good job of pulling off that lap time on the very last lap which took him from 10th to 2nd. The Shinya edged him down to 3rd.

Even more amazing was that he had just run off the track too. :laughing6

I dunno though.. I'm still not convinced that Hayden has the pace to win on race tires, but the then again, neither did Dani or Rossi.

It's crazy to see Shinyo qualify so fast and then it seems as though he loses speed during raceday. Tires maybe? Either way cool stuff.

Race tires vs the Qualifier tires they use to get the fastest possible qualifying lap time. Qualifier tires are super sticky but only good for that one lap though.

Hey, don't even think loris will not battle. The ducs were very fast with race tires, so don't be surprise if loris can get in the front pack fast.

I think the Kawi's will fade on the Stones. Caparossi seems to have a good way of preserving his and making the full distance. Pedrosa didn't seem to have much, and I'm not sad to see it. The kid needs SOME personality. Hopefully Rossi takin' the out of him in the press will light the fire under him, would love to see those two really go at it over the whole race. While Nicky motors off into the sunset with a win!!!!! Live tonight at 11 i think

speaking of which, this may change in the motgp. i read an interesting article that may change this. basicly there is no way to define what techniclly is a qualifier tire, so gp cant really remove them, but they have plans to limit the total number of tires and/or tire compunds a race team can bring to the track for the entire weekend.

this means teams could still use qualifier tires if they wanted to, but they have to chance going without a set of rain tires, or a set for extremly hot weather, or so on. getting a good spot on the grid is critical, but now it will be a tough choice to make for the team about what kind of rubber to bring to the track.

most likely they are doing it because the development of qualifying tires really doesnt help the technology that makes it to market, and it should also create more interesting races with more overtaking.

Someone loves Ducs and don't want to admit it.
