Unhappy My stupid little girly crashed my new bike on second day

man just got my bike last week and crashed it already on my second day of riding. its all my fault shouldnt have rode by myself as a new rider, i just thought i was ready to practice by myself, turned too wide about 15-20 mph into a neighborhood and crashed into the curb and flew off the bike but im ok, just scrapped up underneath and bled a little.

and yes i had my gear on helmet and gloves no motorcycle jacket yet but i wore a regular jacket and jeans. helmet saved my face. actually im more hurt about my bike then myself

i havent even got to take pics of it before i messed it up! the nice guys that stopped to help me pick up my bike bended out all the parts for me and said it was ridable, just cosmetically damaged. like the front part and the right fairings are broken, blinkers, and so is the windshield, and im wondering how much will it probably cost to replace all of that?

and if anyone lives by 249 and spring cypress (5 min from willowbrook mall) let me know if u would like to help me practice in a neighborhood tomorrow during the day and give me some tips about riding. i took the basic rider course at awesome cycles about 4 months ago, so im basically new again

Glad you're okay and didn't get too hurt. Take it easy when you practice! If need be, just have someone bring you to a parking lot.

That is what first bikes are for, take the sh*t out of that 250. I'd suggest you look for an empty lot or parking lot and practice there, just practice what your MSF book says

No bueno. It happens. Most people will drop their first bike. But as long as your safe your ok. Its just some broken plastic. I live in NW houston if you want to ride and cruise. There is some "ok" country roads out here to learn on.

Were you looking down the road, or were you looking at the curb? I learned the hard way that your bike really will follow your eyes. You need to look where you WANT to go, basically.

I'd offer to help at some point, but you live pretty far away, lol. Seems like there are a couple up there offering though, so you should be good. But like some have said, finding an empty parking lot is a good way to practice. You can use the lines as markings and "pretend" they're curbs, but if you overshoot it, no biggie, you just ran over the line and you can try again.

Welcome to the club...

Everyone drops their first bike, some just get lucky and it's a few scratches...

Good luck in learning to control it better, TexLurch is putting together a "noob" ride, I suggest you try to join it.

Good luck.

Glad you're OK chica..

Don't freak out. You'll get better. Longdraw is cool, but if he can't help then I will ask Skid to make some time for you too. I say Skid, because he is a technical genius, if he has been successful at teaching me.
