Its not a moving violation because moving violations are given to the driver of the vehicle. A red light ticket cannot verify the driver, so the ticket is given to the vehicle and by extension the registered owner of the vehicle. Its the exact same as a ticket for running a toll, or even a parking ticket.

this "ticket' is something you just want to pay!
let it be DONE/Finished/Over/Simple

$$ fine vs. time and incidental expenses to contest.

been there done that, (in Houston way back) with someone else driving my vehicle!
I hadn't a ticket in 15yrs.

and YES Sugarland still absolutely most definitely counts.
No warrant would be issued, but i think vehicle registration and other such things will suffer
and the fee gets higher!!!

Would have put this up in my previous post but a phone call came in.

Texas Transportation Code Sec. 707.003 - Installation and Operation of Photographic Traffic Signal Enforcement System.

(h) A local authority or the person with which the local authority contracts for the administration and enforcement of a photographic traffic signal enforcement system may not provide information about a civil penalty imposed under this chapter to a credit bureau, as defined by Section 392.001, Finance Code.

Um - no - not so much. Cities do not determine whether or not you can renew your registration. The county does - and the counties are still telling the cities to go pound sand.

In short, there is nothing the city can do except keep sending you mail that you can keep throwing in the trash.

With the law wackjum posted, the state has said, in effect, that the cities can keep the cameras up, but if the people ignore the invoice, there's nothing the city can do about it.

That's not true. What I posted is only in response to the thing about reporting to your credit.

Yeah - what I said - the County can do that - not the city.

So far, at least Harris county has been pretty clear on telling the cities to go pound sand.

You are of course, correct though.

The best solution of course is not to run a red light...

For what it's worth, I've gotten letters in the mail randomly from whatever attorneys the Beltway 8 people use for the past 3ish years, and have never been denied registration. Not sure if there's any difference, just thought I'd throw that out there since they too say it could result in not allowing you to renew registration.

And if you want the story - it was my first time going to Richmond, TX and my first time going down Westpark tollway. I didn't realize that there wasn't going to be a booth I could pay someone at or a feeder that I could traverse. By the time I realized this, it was already too late, and I wasn't going to reverse down the entrance ramp back to the side streets. I had every intention of paying when they sent the letter, until I actually saw it. I figured it would be like a toll road in Austin that used TX tag - they charge you the toll plus something like $2.00 processing fee. Fine. This one, however, tacked on a $33.00 administrative fee. So I said forget it and threw it away. Now I think they want $75.00. I think not.

Had you called the toll road authority the next day or so you would have only been charged the posted toll.

I've been wrong - it happens - I'm not omnipotent. Geez...

I wouldn't say I was pwned. Just corrected on something.
