maybe a few weeks...i have this continued back problem that has me walking around the office, today, like a crippled old man.

also, i need to tear into that motor again...probably tonight or tomorrow depending on how I feel near the end of the day.

i will definitely let you know when I go.

Had a great time this weekend. Raced Open B with 3 other guys on Saturday and finished second (only because 2nd place ran out of gas) and realized how slow I really am....those guys were quick! I did enjoy the live engine start and going 3 wide into the first corner....fun, fun!

Raced Open C (my normal class so far this season) and had the worst start of the year...dead last of 14 off the line. Otis did a dead engine start on Sunday....which I think is smart when you have a bunch of folks on the start line. Managed to pick my way up to 4th I think by the end of lap 1. Also managed to tag a tree about 2/3 of the way through that lap at about 20 mph with my forearm. I had so much adrenaline running I pushed through the pain. Managed my way into second a couple of times only to crash in the last 1/4 mile (which was a bunch of sand) of lap 3. Bike ended up in a small gulley and with only one good arm, it took me a couple of minutes to drag the bike out....luckily, I still managed 3rd. Headed to the doc this afternoon for an xray to confirm no fractures or broken bones. I do know I need some pain meds though, 3 hours of sleep ain't gonna cut it.

Goodtimes nonetheless. Thanks Otis for a great weekend.

and, you're welcome Cliff. Anytime!

Here's what you missed out on if you didn't make it this weekend. Last 3.5 minutes was my favorite part of the course. From 8:15-9:15 or so you can see the second EZ/Hard in the course. Alberto didn't quite make it....while I conquered this during practice, I skipped it during the races.

No kidding on the easy/hard. No problem on Saturday so I tried it during the race with the same results as Alberto.

2nd, but only by a .... hair

Good race, the first lap riders down all over the place, including myself, endo-ed over someones back wheel on one of the up hills. 2 inch hole in my knee, and some nice bruises on my fore-head, legs and arms. But I should be ready to go for the next round. Managed to catch up to Lee in the last turn and almost had him, next time!

nice Casper....hope you heal up dude. Found out yesterday that my bones are still in tact. Still swollen and very tender, but should be good by the next race.

This one one hard on a lot of us. I'm pretty sure that I re-separated my shoulder. Let's all rest a little and have a ride day at Rio Bravo on Saturday (or whenever).

for my own future reference, don't ever remove your gloves and put them in your waist band to hold them when the woods you are riding in is filled with poison ivy.

at the same time that i could have prevented my belly from this huge rash, i would have protected my knuckles from the same rash.

need more pink lotion.

show up with entrance fees, a bike, your gear, some water, and a good attitude.

you are going to love it...

pretty much...

as for gear, I suggest helmet, chest protector, knee guards, goggles, gloves, camelbak, and boots at a minimum. Optional equipment would be elbow pads (I'm adding this to my gear arsenal after this past race) and neck brace.

entry fees are pretty self explanatory...$20 annual series fee to be paid once, $50 for your intitial race fee per event and then $35 for each additional event. If you camp for the night or weekend there is a $10 fee. Spectators are also $10 per day I believe.
