TX Xtreme Offroad Round #4 April 16 & 17 Bryan, TX

Well, I can't believe rounds 1, 2 & 3 have gone by so fast. Here we are in almost April and temps outside are on the rise. Come get some awesome riding in while the weather is still tolerable.

Like Elevation? Then you want to attend this event @ Brazos Valley in Bryan, TX! With nearly 300 ft of elevation change, there are plenty of hill climbs and descends to make plenty of smiles within your helmet. This course was amazing last year, and I expect nothing less this year. This particular property is a private 4x4 off road club, so you won't be riding this property without attending a race with Texas Xtreme Offroad Race! This too is somewhat close to home for us Houstonians so don't let an hour and a half drive detour you! Come get 4-6 hours of practice on Saturday with a 1 or 2 hour race on Sunday all for $50. Heck, come out early on Saturday and race Saturday as well (I'm really gonna try and race both days for this event).

Here's a short clip from last season compliments of Nate and another video giving a glimpse of the elevation change.

Youngsters and females interested in racing? Don't let us dudes scare you away....here's what Otis recently had to say regarding the women and younger guys racing this series....

It was really nice to see the women and young girls out there racing and having such a blast. Watching them race I sometimes wonder if they are having more fun then the guys! If everyone could see the smiles on their faces as they race it is just incredible! We have already tripled the number of female racers we started out with last year and I see no reason why that number wont continue to grow!

I am also really pleased with our continued growth in the kids classes. That R class is getting pretty solid!

And How about Cody, Logan, Weston and Micah on the big course last race! Just to name a few. All age 15 and under

Cody 2nd open c sunday 2 hr (Age 13)
Logan 3rd open C Sun hr (age 14-15)
Weston 2nd open d Sunday 1hr. (age 12)
Micah 1st open D Sun 1hr. I believe he is 15?

Oh and Raine who was kicking until his bike broke!

I have watched some of our young racers race for over 4 years. Motorcycles have become an integral part of their life and development. Some started out reluctantly but persistent parenting help steer them. Some started out eagerly wanting to ride and no pushing was needed. Either way I have had the pleasure of watching them grow, mature and develop into fine young men. Not only as a racer on the race course but as an individual person as well. Yes sir, no ma'am, yes please, No thank you are just a few of the respectfull words I hear them say. They always ask if they can help and although they are still young themselves they always look after the younger ones! They should all be proud at what they have accomplished so far. I know I am proud of them! They also need to remember that this is just the beginning! I am looking forward to many more years of watching them continue to grow!

Be Proud! Stand Tall for your Accomplishments!

Lets go Race!

Thanks bro. It's more about waiting for parts to come in and get swapped. Fork seals should arrive soon, so if you want to sit around for that, give me a shout. That will be my first time for doing that, but it looks easy enough. When Ryan did yours, did he use an actual fork seal driver or PVC?

The oil drain issue I think I could solve before the race without welding in the bung, but I'd prefer to get that welded in. I hope it comes today with the postman.

Less than a week away and I'll be riding some kick terrain....here's an update from Otis.

Lots of elevation changes, creek runs and plenty of technical challenges. Even with the dry weather there is very little dust and the property is in excellent shape.

Since I have misplaced my camera I wont have a pre race video for this one. Sorry!

This will be a fun course. Probably about 12 miles but I am not done yet.

classes are by skill level not bike displacement. A thru D.

I run the beginner D class. The DB runs at the front of the faster C.

gonna test my skills in Open B on Saturday.

they also have over30, Over 40, and Over 50 for all/some of those classes so the older dogs don't get run over by the pups.

Open B? Glutton for punishment. You'll make something like 9 laps! See you there.

Now for a course update. Since I wont have a video I will try to give some details about the course. I Just finished laying this one out. Man is it a fun one! As of now there are lots of challenging sections and 4 ez/hards. I know the Xtreme racers can handle them! There are lots and lots of elevation changes. We have a total elevation change of 410ft from top to bottom! I have 2 miles of fast flowing fresh cut. There are several places that have multiple lines to take. Top speed is wide open and fast guys can average 20+. There are plenty of places to pass and there are some test sections where I advise throttle control. We have a new long gentle sloping hill to climb as well as the challenging ridge to navigate across. As of today I decided to shorten the course a little from 12mi to just over 8 miles. This way the 1 hr racers have a chance to get more laps. This course is fast, and technical with alot of off camber turns and climbs. It is FUN!

my video would have looked like being stuck in an elevator for 30 minutes...probably about 6 miles into my first lap I stalled the bike near the top of a hill...took too long to get it started again.

i need a new mechanic....it is just going to be too difficult to fire myself.

overall, the race weekend was a blast. I have to thank DBuck for letting me crash with them and feeding me. Danny, tell your family thanks again for me.

may 21-22 @ Shiloh Ridge

I plan on doing several trips to the woods to get this bike 100% setup properly and running without issues.
