help with "rebuilt title" inspection, SW side

hey guys, not sure who on here is still doing inspections, but I have a bike that was apparently entered into the state database as a total loss, and I need to get it inspected this coming weekend so I can get the title and registration taken care of.

Is there anything special I need to do, or a specific place I need to take it? If you have any info for me, please reply or PM. I've got a couple of small issues that I need to know whether or not they will fail the bike on inspection, such as:
- Red LED tail light with clear lens (I think inspection code might specify red or amber lens required? red reflectors on license plate bolts.)
- open pipes, there is a baffle welded in, but no true mufflers
- no "kill" switch, just the key
- hi/lo beam switch mounted on headlight housing

Also, how likely is it that I would be ticketed for riding the bike to a shop to have it inspected so I can get the title/registration? I have no way to trailer it anywhere.

Thanks in advance for any useful information you guys can provide.

There is a form at the court house to fill out if I remember right.

I don't know if this is helpful at all or not, but the lady I talked to at the tax office (when I tried to register the bike initially) said all I needed to do was get a regular inspection. I was a bit skeptical of this because she didn't give me anything in writing, but she said they were basically making an exception since I was an "innocent buyer" and I got the clear blue title instead of the pink title that was supposed to be issued back to the orignal owner after the bike was marked "buy back - total loss" or whatever it is they put in the system.

She said the blue title was supposed to have been turned into an insurance company if it really was a buy back, so all they'd require me to have to issue a rebuilt title is the paperwork from a standard inspection.

Something tells me that this isn't going to go smoothly no matter what...

Just ride it there, if you crry insurance on other bikes and have your motorcycle licence i am sure most cops would be forgiving as long as you were not acting like an .

Yep, already got insurance on the bike, and have the title showing the purchase date was within 2 weeks in my jacket pocket. I'm hoping that the explanation that I'm getting it inspected so I can get the registration would be sufficient.

i think i paid $14.50 + $6 or $8 for the certificate of inspection (green sheet...but I think mine was pink or blue...they call it green anyway)

any inspection station will be able to do these.

there was another form with claims and donor part numbers too that I filled out and submitted along with a check to the tax assessor.

everything else is the normal titling process I believe.
