So a 500 boot from Sidi is twice effective and safer than a 250 A* boot? and three times more effective and safer than a 150 TCX boot?

the expensive boots are worth it, SIDI's are really great.

The first time i went down was a lowside on my cruiser. i had some regular work boots on.. really tore me up in a 15 mph lowside, really bad impact pain, lots of bruises, more pain, exhaust burning my leg, hit the curb... luckily no blood. my buddy is a EMT/FF and was meeting up w/ me. went to the ambulance and got patched up. still got scars, bout 2 yrs old.

second time i went down was last weekend at the track in full gear with some SIDI vertigos. I didn't even feel the impact and slid across 30ft of concrete with my leg buckled under the bike, I stood back up and rode the rest of the day, all the parts on the boots with damage were easily replacable sliders.

Get good gear.

I wear my Sidi boots because my girl says they look so cool!

All kidding aside, they are super strong, light, breathe well and are really comfortable. Even after walking around for hours on the strand or at the track. And they are designed for what we do... Plus, from what I hear - ankles are pretty hard to rebuild.

I saw a guy on a really nice CBR today. Scorpion helmet. A* jacket and gloves.... and untied Vans. REALLY?

And I picked mine up "lightly used" on eBay for $70. Yeah - I'm a cheap !
