Ninja 250 or 500?

so ride my friend cbr 600 and really enjoyed the feel of the sports bike instead of my cruiser so now thinking of trading my cruiser for a sports bike. Would like to get a 600 but insurance is too much for what I want to pay and still a beginner and prolly not ready for one. So a 500 ninja or 250 09+. Should I get the 500 not so great looking but more power or the 250 for the looks but less power? help me out with your opinions please!

yes i thought about it but like i said insurance is the problem. they only recognize it as a 650cc sports bike even though its a good starter bike. not willing to pay the insurance price on it right now.

well.. it looks like you are very concern about you "insurance" YOU want to make sure that the insurance that you have WILL cover you if someone hits you and puts you in a hospital (hope that never happens but if it does)...
let me put it this way.... I pay $100 every month for my R6 and the last time i got hit the insurance company got my bike paid off and all my gear paid off so it was worth it having a full coverage... on top of that they paid my medical bills... and i came out with some cash.

now in my opinion... i would go with the 250 to start with.

how did u get 100 a month for full coverage?! and yes this is my investment and if i ever get in a accident or get my bike stolen ( forbid) i dont want my money to be wasted. thats my main thing and why i need full coverage. and i thought i was the only one who wanted full coverage! lol

I was 20 when i got my R6 and i used to pay 130.00, now I'm 23 and pay 100.00 but i have a lot of coverage for medicals and PIP coverage and anything you can think of...

call around... tell them that the bike its just for weekends... that's the key!
make it look like you never use it and when you do its just to go out for a little cruise..

you know that been young you will get rape by the insurance's but what can you do??

don't worry, when you get over 25 you can get whatever you want, just don't get tickets.

dang i shoulda call. i did it online with free quotes but didnt actually talk with a rep. maybe that would have make a big diff. whos your insurance provider? but oh wells maybe ill try when i get a 600. 600's sport bikes arent in my range either atm unless its a real high mileage bike and in not too good condition which will probably have some problems, which i have no experience with bikes mechanically. need something with low maintenance beside its regularly oil changes and etc etc
