Everyday Riding and White Gear

For those of you who have white-colored gear, how does it hold up for everyday use cleanliness wise.

I'm looking into getting some new gloves, and I really like the way some of the white gloves look. But I'm looking at keeping these for a LONG time and I don't want them looking dingy in a couple years.

What are you guys' experiences?
-Cody

Edit: I don't guess it really matters, but these are the gloves I'm looking at:
2910 14 x 86
Titan black

A couple years? You will be lucky if they still look clean in a couple months.

I have white fox gloves just for around town. Had them for 6 months and they look gross. I would just stick with black.

On a lighter note I have a pair of the HELD Phantom gloves and they are so awesome and comfortable. I was torn on getting the titans but for the price I couldn't justify $350 for a pair of Titans so I went with Phantoms. But which ever you buy I am sure you will be very pleased. Let me know what you end up getting.

I had a red/white jacket. The white did not stay clean...at all. Just like Tri, I got tired of cleaning the jacket.
Good luck.

Thanks for the input. Thats what I was starting to figure. I love the way they look...NOW. But if I'm keeping these for a few years (which I dont plan on going through $350 gloves every season), I want them to look nice. I have some black A* and Joe Rocket gloves for a longgg time and they still look really good.

I was long debating on the phantoms or the titans...if I wouldve bought the phantoms, I wouldve just got blue and this decision would've been a whole lot easier!

The reviewer on sportbiketrackgear.com said he had been down in his phantoms 4x and they're just now starting to show signs of wear. So the phantoms arent a slouch by any means either.

My thought process came down to it was a matter of $68...and if I'm already spending almost $300 on gloves any way, I might as well just spend the little extra money and get the step up. Plus, I have $65 in gift certificates to newenough and a 10% off through April 2nd.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm 95% sure I'll be ordering the black ones. I'm going to sleep on it and think about it again tomorrow.

i have some five brand leather gloves
fivegloves supermoto glvs wht MD
they got a little dingy, but otherwise they look nice. i have ridden with them since maybe early jan and have treated them to every kind of weather and 1 downing. great gloves, but i'd go with black or another color. the white stayes fresh until it leaves the store/comes out of the ups box

Another reason why I didn't get the Titans is because momma was on my about spending money. I wanted the Titans but considering I bought a $8500 motorcycle plus all my gear which cost me around $2700. Momma said enuff so I had to give in. If you get the Titans I wanna try them on. I love the Phantoms so I know I am sure you will really like the Titans. Again Let me try them on...

I have money every month that I put aside for 'play money'. She has no say in how much of that gets spent. I bought the bike 7 months before we were married so she couldnt have a say in that either...haha. She wasnt too happy with that. Sometimes its easier to ask for forgiveness than permission!

You should have just told her that you can either spend more money now and get better gear or itll be 5x that later on when you go down...haha.

Ill be at TWS (Texas World Speedway) may 30th with ridesmart, youre welcome to come try them on then.

I bought gloves from LeatherUp.com
___ LINK ___

I bought the "Silver Carbon" style. All in all I love 'em.

PRICE: $34.95

REVIEW

They're not the absolute best fit, but reasonably comfortable. Little long on a couple fingers, which can make a difference when operating controls. Hard to see on the pic, but there's vent holes in the guards over the fingers and they breathe great (although cold in the winter... but waaaay better than going gloveless like I used to). The "gauntlet" at the wrist didn't fit over my jacket well, but were also bulky under the jacket cuff also. Given light to that I fastened the velcro tight (I wore them under the jacket cuff) and thus there was extra "flap", but no biggie. I'm getting mildly turned off by velcro.

I will say this though, they do the job they're supposed to. I went sliding through a ditch and the stitching's fine. I did put a crack in the plastic over the carbon fiber; I also have a minor sprained wrist. I obviously hit something pretty hard, won't blame the gloves.

* * * * * *

I dislike the idea of paying even $80 for "good" gloves at a dealership, and I'd risk going squid-handed if my only options were in the triple-digit price tag range.
