If the little dude defended himself with a bullet right after he got punched.. would that be a justified shooting?

it was an epic fail of stupidity.. but two points made.. One.. When the kid was out of the car and could fight back, old dumbass left didn't keep fighting.. and second point.. I wish someone would punch me in my car like that... Ooops.. gonna need to pick up the body.. That would have been my thought if I were to punch someone in THEIR OWN CAR... I'd be waiting to get shot.... So just don't think I'd be punching someone in their own car.

1) I find this very comforting. The number of serious issues which we as a society today face are numerous and growing. I'm just glad to see that there is a growing trend where people are focusing their attention on important & relevant issues, applicable to society as a whole, and learning to ignore the petty, personal and merely emotional ones - like a couple guys who talk trash and almost get in a pointless fistfight. Almost.

[/sarcasm]

2) Interesting the gun comments. I'm not quite to the point of being a gun nut, but still a supporter. What I've learned is that nothing gets a huge, hyper-emotional (& often unpredictable) reaction from a crowd like a firearm. Had the dude in the car so much as lifted a piece, his only option would have been to hit reverse, haul outta there for the night, and pray like haell no one got his plate #. Granted I wouldn't feel the least bit bad for the homeless-looking, -talking crackhead had he been blessed with some vitamin lead.

I used to not leave my house without my beretta in my back pocket; I quit after one time when I got in an altercation just like that and realized that getting an whoopin might suck, but not as bad as the consequences of what would have happened if I'd so much as pulled out my "l'il friend".

With every don't there comes a do, so my two cents: what would have worked would be pepper spray and a stun gun. Yeah, I know, "girl" weapons. But think about it. Drama starting moron punches some kid through a car window, next thing you know he's screaming and hunched over with his face in his hands. Kid in car seems to have something in his hands, "punches" crackhead in the gut, Mr. Smack-talker is now on the ground in the fetal position. Kid tosses something on his passenger seat, locks the door and has a good time. Crowd of people stands around some bald, bearded guy that's whimpering like a child with the runs. Good chance that nobody helps him, knowing that he got what he deserved, fairly good chance that no-one will rat out the kid either. Police arrive and everone just plays dumb. Worst case you get hit with an assualt charge... throw a gun in the mix and then doing some (undeserved) hard time is closer to guaranteed.

Uhm.. no.. well the kid trying to run him over in the car would have landed him jail time.. but someone two and three times your scrawny little size (not you but the kid in the vid) swing and hits you and you shoot him because you were in fear for either your life or serious bodily harm and he's laying dead next to your car when the cops show up will have little difference than a stun gun or even spray. Yes... I mean provided that the weapon is yours (like registered in your name.. the oxymoron as tx doesn't have to register past the first owner...so always by yours from an ffl.. not a friend.. it'll help you in the long run when they register your name to the weapon)

Dead guy next to your car doesn't sue you.. you deal with a state board...

pepper spry guy gets up after 30 mins and beats that tar out of you (because you said throws it back on your seat) cops show up.. both of you going to jail, probably for something stupid like disturbing the peace vs who threw what.. They figure sort it out with the lawyers... or numb nuts sues you later for not being properly trained and over sparying him... or something even more stupid than that. Granted you have to pick and choose when to pull you 'lil friend' out. Because yes the consequences are very extreme.. but ANY weapon can be turned on you in court. So pull it not for show.. that's for sure..

If you really wanted the smartest of answers.. stupid kid should have found another parking spot. Because even though I said if he'd reached in my car I'd have shot him.. On the same note, the last person that tried to run me over in a car in almost that same manner, I literally destroyed the car with my hands.. and elbows.. Spashed the windshield in and crushed the a pillar with one elbow. The insurance company chased after me for 4 years and couldn't get anyone to award them my money so they had to bite the bullet. Lucky the side window didn't break because I would have pulled him out the car.

point being.... If you're going to commit, commit all the way, because you don't know the other guys level of commitment. If you don't plan to commit all the way, walk away... Which is your best of options.. I wouldn't try to hit you with my car because you may scratch the paint.... BUT I still stand by and promise that if you try to reach in my car, which is an extension of my home, and try to cause me bodily harm you won't be met with pepper/cs spray of any kind. .40 on my person, and the judge for the car. Just sayin.

I like that two shot one someone posted earlier.. Gonna see if my g-f wants one.

Oh, and I'm no gun bunny myself.. By NO means.. just picking up the habbit. Not that I'm new to guns or using them either.. Just never made it a hobby. But I am a self defence instructor and the number #1 rule I lived by while in the army, when I lived in not the best parts of towns, and just in generaly my day to day life.. "I don't know what you're going to do, but I'm going home to eat dinner tonight. I've made my decision.. have you?"

I would rather fight a big dude than a little dude. I can always say he was bigger than me. plus they get tired faster than little ones. That was a good punch though.

Pulling a gun for intimidation is not a good idea. It usually causes more guns to come out.
