Woo hoo, congrats on the bike.

When it comes to buying gear I think the best advice is to try on as much as possible. I must have put on every helmet in the store before I found the right one. Just make sure u have ur gear before u take ur bike anywhere. And hope to get to ride with u soon.

I can vouch for how excited she was! haha i was excited for her when she told me about the bike. +1 for a pretty bad bike.
This girl has a good head on her shoulders and is going about things the right way, took the safety course and got her license then got a bike.
She is now going to buy frame sliders (she already has swingarm spools)

5900 miles, New chain, Full Yoshi System, Factory Pro Jet kit, Short levers, Lowering kit w/ short kickstand, Smoked DB windscreen, Solo seat cowl, Oil change/ new tires less than 200 miles ago.

Welcome to MH, glad you picked up a nice bike. Gear is going to help you if you ever take a spill on the bike. I learned that with it on and not on in a few crashes on my bike. Really all you need is the title signed, the title transfer form signed and a proof of insurance. I just did the transfer on my 750 this week, you just need to find a tax office near your location. As for suspension I am not sure if the 250 is all that adjustable like these bigger bikes. I learned that with my gs500 I started off with 6 years ago. The most I was able to do it adjust the rear shock with the next click up or down, the front was needing new springs in it to give a stiffer ride. I would go to a shop and ask someone for sure about doing adjustments on your suspension. lowering might be easy to do, you can probaly get away using another kawi's dog bones and sliding the triple tree down on the front to lower it for you. If you ever want a group to just ride with hit me up. I can get some friends and we take a ride so you can get some seat time down on the bike.

Welcome and great choice to start with a 250!

Most important stuff after making sure the bike is sorted out is your personal gear.

Save some money to spend on a good full face helmet. Also, make sure you measure you head with a string or cloth tape and size the helmet right. Then check the manufacturer's recommendation for for the right size. Many people just walk into a shop, put on a helmet and it feels snug, and walks out with a helmet way too large for them just because it feels "snug." I did that when I first started riding and wore the wrong helmet size for years. A good fit is not snug, It is very, very snug.

Gloves, boots, and leathers. Don't skimp.

welcome....take it easy, gear up, ride at your pace. Motorcycle crashes are very common, so always gear up for one.

I just purchased a bike from Patrick and have to say it was pleasure doing business with him. Highly recommended! That traffic on 1960 is horrible though.
