First Track Day - Help!!!

So I'm eager to get on the track as early into the riding season as possible, however I have two problems.

1. Never done a track day so I don't want to ride out there.
2. Have no means of trucking/trailering the bike to the track!!!!

If anyone has plans on going to a track day in the next coming weeks and could spare some room for an extra bike on the trailer let me know, I'll happily fill your tank up/buy lunch/beer/shots/womenwhatever.

I'm fairly expierenced and don't foresee myself chucking it into the woods on day 1 so no fear of you having to truck back a crippled bike and a cold body.

Much appreciated MH.

If you have a truck or a car with a hitch you can rent a motorcycle trailer from U-Haul for $10 a day.

If your talking about gss on the 10th, I live in Dickinson so not much help but u could stay at my house the night before and trailer with me in the mourning if that helps. You would still have to make the ride home though. You wouldn't have to make the drive from Katy to Hitchcock at 6am.

I'm not doing the track day on April 9th/10th at TWS (Texas World Speedway) but I will be doing either of the Ridesmart days at MSR Houston or TWS (Texas World Speedway) in May. My truck has a hitch so we can rent a trailer or I may have one purchased by then. I have nobody to go to the track with so it would help me with loading/unloading having an extra set of hands around. I'll PM you my number.

Thanks for all the replies, like I said, I was pretty open with the date, just looking to see if there was a group going anytime soon that could squeeze me in.

I still have to get a pair of riding pants as I doubt wearing 2 pairs of jeans will work ....

I'll PM you guys, thanks again for the invites!

It would be wise to invest in a one-piece suit to a two-piece that zips together in the middle. A lot of tracks won't let you on without those as a minimum. Just wearing a matching jacket and pants that snap together or not at all won't cut it for gear requirements.

You can rent leathers/boots for free with Ride Smart on your first time, and I think some others offer discounts as well.

Yeah, they have discount codes on the Ride Smart website. Very cool that they rent out. I just never think of that option because we could never do it at home.

For whatever it's worth, I have rode my bike to 2 trackdays (GSS and MSRH) with full gear, 2 gatorades, painters tape and scissors and slippers. As long as you have friends that are attending (or even if you don't), there's no shortage of tools, chairs, etc.

The only thing that sucks about rentals is sometimes there is a "you break it you buy it" policy if you wreck then you are stuck with paying for leathers when you could of just bought a set you liked more to begin with.

Unless I missed something, you never mentioned where you need a ride from or which track.
Tells us your size, I got leathers you can use also (assuming they fit, lol). I'm 5'11" bout 200lbs.
