Is it a replacement frame for a bike you have title on?

yeah but the other is a salvage title so i would kinf od want a clean and clear title if i could have one. it's either pay 300 for frame repair or 600 more for a brnad spanking new frame from kawasaki.

I doubt it. They won't be familiar with Texas title laws.
Once again, is it for a bike you have a title to but with a damaged frame, or is it a frame for a bike you plan on building from spare parts but have no physical title on?

Sorry, you posted while I was typing.
As far as I know once it has a salvage title it's difficult to get it changed to a clean one. The old frame, title and new frame will need to be taken to the DMV, I'm not sure what dept., the new frame will then be stamped with the old numbers and the old frame will be disposed of.

was kind of hoping that for resale value i don't have to deal with a salvage title if it's a new frame.

Doesn't really work that way. They'll need receipts to see what you've done to make the vehicle road legal, and it will need to be inspected by the D.O.T.
Check out: http://www.dot.state.tx.us/
You may have to call them tomorrow to get more specific information. They've always been real helpful with any questions I've had.
Good luck!

Seriously, they have been. Just call them, explain what you're trying to do, be concise and polite and they will help you.
You may have to be transferred to a couple of people before you get to the person that handles such things, but it's a ton easier than say trying to get Tech help from HP in India.:laughing6

Then why are you concerned about salvage title or not?
Most track bikes are salvage bikes.
, half of them don't even have titles; lost, never transferred through 4 owners, made up from different bikes etc.
I wouldn't go through the hassle IMO.
