Ya'll both make it sound like a busa is some MV-priced bike.

Nah, just many people don't have a Busa or ZX12/14 as their personal bike. Many have the smaller bikes and some choose to do projects (like TC) on what they have already.

To each their own...

I'm looking for a Hayabusa, but it has to be the right one for the right price. That will be my master piece.

i know this thread is old,but i have a street turbo kit on my k6 1k and i love it!! the thing with a turbo is you can't mickey mouse around with one. imo,if you have the money, buy a kit!! home made kits work, but i don't like using used or mix and matching parts. tuning is going to make the turbo work. again a good kit that comes with a tune works perfect. i have a velocity and it came with EVERYTHING i needed.

230 on 6psi. you can get the wastegate and boost controller and go up to 8psi for 250 to the back tire.

"not everyone can have a busa" makes it sound like a busa is some out-of-reach bike. They're plentiful and no more expensive than anything else.

IS this where you think I said the Busas are unobtainium?

Yea, that. You make it sound like a busa is the cost of a of a 600 (lets say $6k) plus the cost of a turbo kit (lets say $4k). That's putting you close to brand spankin new bus territory.

I have seen the price drop pretty steady for a while now. They still run in a huge price range but you can find them for as low as 5K

I would think insurance would be more of a show stopper then the price of the bike..
