OK very impressive.
Let me ask wheres the weak link, what about thigs like transmissions, and tires.
Turning on 400plus horses and clearing 200plus mph, at least now and then you got to be thinking gee I hope the ______ holds.

I'm drag racing 1/4 mile on my bike. For the 'I hope the ____ holds ?'
Its the transmission ! Worst case it double feeds two gears and comes thru the case.

AFR and traction seem to be their main concern

PM "the Trav", as he turbocharged a FZR600 a few years back. I believe it made 6-8 psi and spooled quickly. It can be done.

question:

maybe a little off subject, but it kinda just popped up, and i dont mean to your thread man. But like how some cars have turbos, are becoming for fuel effecient, and still putting out great hp. can the same be done on a bike? lets say, a 600cc or so?

The "turbos for fuel efficiency" thing is a lot deeper than that. Manufacturers are using smaller motors with turbos in order to reach a similar power number as a larger motor without one. Off boost, the smaller motor is more efficient. They're also doing direct injection which allows them to run a motor a lot leaner under boost.

A 600 with a turbo is going to be LESS fuel efficient than a 600 without.

That 600 wont run for off boost with the lowered compression.

He doesn't necessarily have to lower compression to run 6-8 psi. If he were to run boost above those levels, then that is a whole other story.

Not everyone can have a Busa with 20psi. Or even a Busa for that matter, so they make do with what they have...

Ok sweet, I didn't know that thanks. Not that I'm trying to stuff a turbo in a 600, I was just curious.

For the price of the bike and the turbo, they could have a Busa and get the power more reliably. , it crossed my mind at one time. It just did'nt make sense. Thats why I bought the Busa to begin with. The 600 was not longer cutting it in the power dept. The price is down on the Busas. The turbo system prices are not going down.

What I want to know... mostly being serious... is WTF goes through your mind when that much HP hand grenades that close to your nut sack....

I mean road racing it's usually over pretty quick. Unless you were in full tuck down the back of Road A the ride was going to be fairly short lived...

At 200 though, I bet you have alot of time to think about how much this is about to hurt....

First off, I'm not boosting the 600 to run with hayabusas, I just happen to have everything I need at my shop to do it.... so why not? You know it ma only give me 30hp but that is 30hp and also putting it out there that I can do it. It's all for fun man. Build a custom bike cool, build a custom bike then turbo it, Way cool.

You're project makes perfect sense. My comments were mostly for people who don't already have the turbo parts.
