All these factors and others will determine what will/can/cannot/willnot/might happen. It just depends on how things go down. Also CHL has nothing to do with having a gun at home.........CHL only deals with lawful concealed carry. If you shoot, you know the consequences even if you were in the right.Get ready to defend in court and show there was an immediate and emminent threat of life.

Correct, saying you were in fear of your life and backing up that statement with facts are two very different things.

if you find a jury that thinks that some theiving should get your money cause you shot him when he was trying to jack your off your property.

but hey it didn't work out so well for OJ so its possible.
different standard of evidence.

if you shoot, don't miss, you may be liable for other charges.

this is real life, not the movies. cops don't shoot people's legs and arms when there are criminals waving guns around. if you must shoot, take a body shot. you really don't wanna be shootin for limbs, cuz if you miss and hit someone else's property, or worse, hit an innocent bystander, you're F**KED.

and doesn't matter if you are right for shooting the thief or not. this is not a picture perfect america. in reality it's "guilty until proven innocent". if you think otherwise, then just don't put yourself in the situation and let them have your bike. unless he had a gun, knife, or any other life-threatening weapon in his hand....it will be very hard to prove that your life was threatened, and you will sit in jail (unless you post bond) and go to court every 2 weeks and have those paper pushers reset your court date a hundred freakin billion times til you go to trial or take a plea bargain. a lot of murder, attempted murder, aggrivated (sp?) assault, in/voluntary man-slaughter cases usually go on for years before the case is closed, unless you can prove beyond a doubt to the DA and Judge that it was self-defense or your life was threatened physically.

and CHL has nothing to do with having a gun at your home/business. A guy with 10 felonies can have a gun at his house (he/she can't buy it from a gun dealer though, private sale with bill of sale works just fine). CHL only gives you the right to leave your property with your gun.

well...last time i held someone at gun point on my property they didn't live to tell thier side of the story....lol jk!!! no I think it would be counted as self defense and you can't get in trouble with the law for that, it's your property you can do whatever you want...ALMOST whatever you want!!

If he's stealing your stuff and didn't pose a threat to you or your loved ones, then call the police. They'll probably be long gone before the police gets here, but this is pretty much all you can do without causing yourself any trouble. And grabbing his wallet is a bad idea. Have as little contact with the suspect as you can.
The only time you can shoot is when you're in physical danger and using your gun as a last resort. If he comes after you with his gun or knife and there is no way to avoid it, you can shoot.
Any bullets coming out of your gun barrel you are responsible for. Even ones shot into the grass. If the responding officer decided to be a , he can charge you for firing a firearm inside city limits.
Please be careful out there. The law protects the guilty more than the innocent.

on the other hand a dead witness can get you felony charges brought against you.....
shooting people in general is bad... **** if you just want them to go away academy has an awesome night outfit.. its a real high quality high velocity .177 pistol with a night vision scope, and they sell the "penetrating" rounds that are a pellet with a bb sort on top.

start shooting them with that its quiet as there are no lights they wont know where its coming and it will hurt like a mother ****er.

might wanna keep the 9 in your holster in case they are strapped tho.
