At 5:30 Saturday evening Justin Hallmark of Conroe was on SH242 near the river bridge with friends learning to ride his brand new motorcycle that he just bought. This was his first time on it as he headed east on SH 242. After passing the river bridge he turned around and started traveling westbound.

Witnesses say it looked like he was trying to steer the bike to negotiate the turn instead of leaning into it. As the bike appeared to be heading for the guardrail he jumped off. The bike continued forward but Hallmark landed on the crush point on the end of the guardrail causing severe trauma to his chest. PHI Air Medical was dispatched to the scene and transported him to Hermann Hospital in Houston in critical condition.

With SH 242 closed traffic was backed up to the west to Lexington Drive and to the east , east of FM 1314.

Epic fail.

I hope he is ok. Prayers sent his way.

Always. That's why we decided to restart the Forest Gnome rides. Some of us were sitting around discussing how 'amazing' everyone says their riding is but the new riders only seem to ride to bars to drink. Some of us concerned old timers wanted to help where we could

One was on a straight road AFTER Crabb going maybe 30mph?
It was so slow, all 30 noobs behind him were able to stop when he went down.
The other guy was in the fast group ON the track?
There is an on track vid for reference.

Anyway....prayers sent to the rider. Montgomery is going to start getting fed up again especially with the 149 incidents last week.

When I get time in the schedule we need to do another "dedicated noob" ride.. got good reviews last time and seemed to help folks.
