It looked to me like Spies had the pace to pass Rossi, but Rossi is one hard to get around. I base this on the fact that he kinda left Rossi for dead when he finally did get around.

We can start another thread about "the show formerly known as the ducati show/aka WSBK." Cuz yea....that's some funny stuff!

A really great race to start the season, I and just about everyone else thought the dingo was going to take it and he did. But I think the next race will be closer due to track confguration, tighter, less of a HP track... But make no mistake, Honda means business and they will be tough to beat anywhere...

Ben has got to get better starts, period...

Rossi, did as well as could be expected with the bike switch and the surgery, he will get stronger as the season goes along...

Going to be an interesting year for sure!!

I would like to see Spies lap times compared to the front 5 for the last 6 laps or so. He was visibly closing on the two Hondas the last few laps.

The boy does know how to pick up the pace at the end.. he just needs to work on getting it off the line.

The Yamahas need a little more HP to make it interesting, Rossi needs to heal up but don't know if the Duc has what it takes... the Hondas need a weight penalty for those two midgits.. LOL!

It's not an excuse. Just an honest observation of the events. It didn't look to me that Spies got any better on that turn 1 attempt when he made the pass. He ran in hot over and over blowing the turn trying it. So that makes me think the change came on Rossi's end.

ben is usually a good starter so i dont know what happen, too me it alomst looked like he jumped the start. if he thought he did maybe he rolled off thinking the same thing which resulted in his lack of presence at the front.

I too would like to see a compairson of lap times for ben and the front runners, cuz at the end after he finally got past rossi it looked like the was running a good pace

so what was the reason rossi couldnt keep up with ben after he passed him?

Yeah from lap 15-20 Spies was cooking. Not that he would have caught 1/2, but I agree he MIGHT have had a decent battle for podium. Look at his first 3 laps though....3 Seconds off pace already!

This is gp man, if you have a glitch is game over for podiums, the rest will not wait for you. Very strong field up there. I hope so he gets his act together and shows he is a Texan Allien.

I know it's going to be hard to focus the kiddies here, but I'll give it a shot.

Never said that Spies wasn't faster yesterday. I was talking about him making that pass in turn 1 on the brakes. Rossi is good on the brakes and it was fun watching Spies trying to beat him on the brakes in turn 1. I just didn't see an improvement from Spies to finally make the pass in that instance. Once again, that leads me to believe that Rossi just wore out in the long run. Looking at his later lap times helps me come to that conclusion.
