On my old 60 I used a moded SV650 stock shock. Ride height was good.... A little stiff but otherwise ok. On that note... I replace my SV shock with Stocker off of a 02 Gixxer 1000. 3mm shorter than the SV but better spring and fully adjustable. $40 from EBay.

For the front I cut a 1in piece of 1/2in schedule 80 PVC and dropped them in with 20wt fork oil. It was a pogo stick but I won 2 races with that set up before switching to the NSR and for $40'n change it worked.

Various Equipment for various uses.
Dirt, Street, Track, Dual Sport, I like em all.

I wonder if someone did what you did with the front and welded up some of the rebound holes in the damper rod. I bet that would start to get closer.
