A busa bud had a Drunk driver turn in front of him last night. He was doing about 45mph and had zero time to avoid. Had on helmet and mesh jacket but still broke his jaw and some minor aches and pains.
bike will be totaled, the bike hit the passenger door area of the truck. guy was arrested for dui.
he is getting his jaw wired shut this morning and should be released from hospital monday.
he lives off 290 and skinner so happened around there and tomball as that is the hospital he is at.
later

I will have 1 beer every six months at best. I can say **** drunk drivers and not be a hipocrite. More importantly is the guys that drink and ride put themselves in more danger.

yeah the cops are just SECRETARYS of justice, but they know this and like to hide it, thats why most of them throw their weight around to show how important they feel they are.

i respect MOST cops. i think they should have the power to charge people instead of a busy DA not taking charges on something cause they are backed up.

HCSO has to call the DA to get approval for arrests to see if the DA will even accept charges :BangHead:

actually i don't know exactly what he got. DUI or dwi.
will see when the accident report is out.

Draven and I are going to see him tonight bout 6pm
should be outa recovery by then
This is another case for wearing your helmet, yeah a broke jaw but a headfirst stop from 45mph into the side of a truck. dead for sure

on another note. yeah i have drove after a couple beers. but there is a point to where u realize that "yeah" i have been drinking and try to be more vigulant and a safer driver because i have had a few. Is it right, probably not.
again my 02

Is it possible to have a broken jaw with a full face helmet? I just can't see it happening, unless the helmet is thrown off.

John just used to wear a 3/4 shell, ya know no chin guard. But that was when I first met him long ago. Lately he wears a full helmet and he even wore full leathers when our Vmax group hit Bandera last spring. It will be good to see him alive again.

My friends and I have discussed about these half or 3/4 helmet all the time and could not grasp the understanding of why would anyone used these? Sure, it does save your head from crushing in if you land on your head. Not every time that a rider goes down is head first. What about face? Chin? I used to have a cruiser and I found that it is more dangerous than sportbikes. I admitted that I do have both half and 3/4 helmet but the thought in a crash it would not do sh it for me. I only wore it once and ridden the cruiser for about 4k miles and sold it because it was safety issues. Did you know that there are more cruisers crashed then sportbikes?
