We rode, left at 8:30 and were home by noon. We got a little sprinkled on here and there and some of the roads were damp, but it was a good run anyway. Passed a decent sized group going to the Forest as I was pulling out of Montgomery heading home around 11:30.

A few of us met up in Brookshire in an attempt to head west, but we were all soaked just getting to the meet-up. We tried waiting to see if it was going to let up, but in only did briefly - and started right back up.

I can ride in the rain when I need to, but to start a ride in the rain is another story.

On the plus side, my rain gear still works flawlessly. It wasn't hot enough out to make it a steam suit, either. My boots started letting water seep through by the time I was almost home (New boots have been on the "want" list for a while now). It was also the first rain with my new gloves, so I had the "purple hand" issue.

Myself and a friend went out this afternoon on the NW side, it was a good day to be out, not too killer hot, and no sign of rain.

Guess timing is everything!
