Anyone ever ran at Sealy?

I'm planning to take my bike to Sealy for TX2K11. Do you need full leathers and the kill switch to run? I'll be on a mostly stock 1000. I have all the gear except leather pants but I'm hoping it won't be a big deal.

1/4 you could be turned away or get one pass in when your mph is too fast. get some leather pants, you will wish you had them on if you crash. just screw a tether to your factory kill switch.

The last time I visited Sealy I remember, the track was hard to hook up and that it was not at all like HRP ( now RPR).

They don't usually require full leathers. They may change the rules during an event. I would borrow some if need be.

I was at the sealy track a few weeks ago running my car. A few bikes I saw just had leather jackets, gloves, and helmet of course. They were all wearing jeans...

The tech guy doesn't care if you have leather pants. I've raced at sealy a few times and it doesn't matter how fast you go. You just need Helmet, Jacket, Gloves, and Shoes or boots that go above the ankle. I'll be there during the TX2k11 running my stock gsxr1000.

They don't look for a tether to the kill switch. People running their bikes will be running during the test-n-tune sessions.

Do you have any pictures of this? How are you attaching the velcro to the tether?

Get a small plastic tab from Walmart, like you hang pictures with.. I've used the ones with a small "eyelet" before. Just make sure you have it on the correct side of the kill switch so it shuts off when you pull.

Other option is check at a boat shop for kill switches like they use on jet skis. They are small and cheap.

You do not need full leathers at sealy, no tether kill, just bring a helmet, jacket, and gloves. I will be out there this saturday on my "STOCK" 1000 too.

I will be out there running this: Getting my clutch tuned in and spraying a small shot...

You will not have an issue hooking with a stock bike, stock length. , even my bike at 64 inches with spray still hooks. If you start spinning, let some air out the rear tire, and if you need to air it back up, come find me, i will have an air compressor

I really dont see how that will provide enough thrust for the money to make a huge difference on a warmed busa, one would think he would go a lot faster if he put the money in the engine goodies etc. buuuuuuut, I'm sure this is all in the name of "being different, or first"
but then again, what do I know, he may go a billion miles an hour in the 1/8...
