Sad day for me ......

I went to harley davidson today to get my brand new 883 Iron. With 1000 down I still got turned down in the financing department, I was very sad. I am going to go back with a cosigner to see if I can get the deal done on Tuesday. Hopefully I will have it Tuesday.

not trying to tell u how to deal with your finances, but go to your bank or credit union and get preapproved. then all u gotta do is go in pick it out and they do there paperwork and u ride out. if they dont wanna deal, call the credit union and tell them where u are going next and walk out. no bx, no mess. that way u hold all the cards and u know everything straight up and the shop cant try wiggle more money out of them. best of luck. thats how my last several dealings have been done and since then, the salesmen always off a lower price with addons because they know i have the money. i wont ever walk into a dealership without preaproval ever again. takes time to set it up, but its worth it and easier payment plans, but allow some wiggle room for accs...............good luck bud

Go pick up a cycle trader mag from any stop and go for 1.25 and HALF the entire book is used HDs for 1/3 the price of sticker

BUY USED HD don't ever be a fool and buy new one something that 90% of people buy and then are morons who dont know how or really want to ride and turn around and sell.

This right here. Go get a preapproval at a bank and then turn around and go pick up a nice 883 from someone who was dumb enough to take the hit in deprecation for you. Then go get yourself some hookers and some blow and charlie sheen it up, for you just saved yourself a few grand.

winner!!! buy it USED!!!!! save a ton of money and then make it your own with changes as you go.

Seen many 2009 883s for less than 7000.00 probably could get them lower than that. Listen to the advice your getting here you will be much better off. One thought is there such a thing as a new bike smell?

I want a new bike. I bought 2 used bikes. I even brought one up to Motorcycles Unlimited to have it checked before I purchased it. The bike I had checked, and been given the OK by Motorcycles Unlimited, while riding to my buddies that day, the bike just died. It would start and die in 1 minute I know this is no ones fault but my own, but I have decided that my next bike will be brand new. So at 1 am I dont have to call my friend to come pick me up again. Thanks for the advice guys, maybe I should look into a different bike all together or preapproval.

Harleys are infamous for that, I have an 883 and the guy I got it from a had all the problems with it the first 1000 miles, they finally got the bugs out of it and he sold it to me 600 miles later. He took a big hit too.
All just advice, do what you want to do. Everyone told me to buy my R6 used but I bought it off the showroom floor.....shoulda bought one used.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with buying new if you can afford it...why would that make someone a fool? Maybe the fools are those who CANT afford new??? I have bought both (new and used) and I dont regret it....both have advantages and disadvantages....

Unless it's your only mode of transportation, I would never finance a bike.
