Night at the 1/4 mile? Feeler...

Would anyone be interested? When I was in Hawaii we had one small road course and it usually had one track day a month. With my schedule, military, I was going months without a track day. SO, I would go to the 1/4 mile just to have something to practice, yes, launching well is HARD. It was cheap, fun, legal, and you got a time slip so no BSing after, just hard numbers.

Okay, I also went because my GF at the time was the fastest girl on a bike in Hawaii, now she is 2nd fastest Female on an open wheel motorcycle for land speed. Check out this website if you want. (plug for a friend)

Back to topic.
Would anyone be interested in a meet at a Houston area drag strip? Baytown? Are there others in a better location, I'm new here?

Have a safe weekend,
Mike

Friday nights are street night in baytown. Baytown is 1/4 mi. 15 dollars. There was a guy passing out fliers at asi for a bike night at houston motorsports park on sunday. That track is 1/8 mi. The price is 20 to race.

It's gotta be a 1/4 mile. Unless you are REALLY good, you won't have much fun in an 1/8th on a stock height and wheelbase bike, IMO.
A night where there is a race would not be the best time to go if you want to participate, too crowded. Usually, the weekend after a race when it's just a test and tune night is a good time to go. The weekend before a race is busier. That's just my experience.

Good to see we have some real interest here! I'm thinking early October but I need to look at a track schedule.

Baytown is cool. Bikes get to move to the front of the line because there are usually just a few of them. At least in the past that is how it has been.

Baytown u dont need leathers unless u run under 10seconds i think......unless u got a stretched busa or something crazy like that u just need the obvious gear...helmet, gloves, jeans, jacket...there arent to many bikes there but alot of cars...they alternate between cars and bikes....all in all its worth it....and yes launchin is not easy at all.....i would be down but not in the rain...

10 SECONDS seems awfully fast. In Hawaii it was 118 mph. I'm sure the baytown website will have that info. I was hitting 137 at 10.7, that's more than fast enough to need leathers IMO.

baytown is over 120 have to have leathers. we uasually just tap the brakes before the trap to drop the speed if you dont have leather.

I would love to bring the new busa out, but it's not working right now, so we'll have to do it sometime after I get it fixed. I cant wait to run it.
