You are wrong.
After certain level, it's not for ANYONE.
Some people can and most people can't.
Just like a lot of things in our lives not everybody can do everything.
That's why competitive racing (you can still enjoy being part of racing) is not for anyone.

Charles... Suzette hasn't been with Jon for awhile, well over a year. Congrats on her new position with LSTD, a fine addition to the company. (Can't believe my replacement is a girl! j/k:icon_bigg)

Cool Thanks for the welcome!!!!

HI, it's me, suZette, a.k.a Racergirl546... (or Z, or Zette to those who know me)

Thank you all for the warm welcome to the community. I am looking forward to meeting you at the TWS (Texas World Speedway) track day before the final CMRA race.

Let me help clarify some of the questions / comments previously posted in this thread.

Yes, I did previously date a guy named Jon well over three years ago. Unfortunately, after I removed myself from the relationship, we were not able to even remain friends. I haven't spoken to him in over 2.5 years. However, I have been able to remain friends with many people and racers in the Houston area through LSTD and the CMRA. I look forward to meeting many of you at future events.

Yes, I do have a Silver and Black ’01 F4i that I used to take to the track and ride on the street. However, it is now for sale. I just don’t ride on the street anymore and I want to get some different toys for next year. So, I am asking $4500 for it. Email me for pics.

Regarding times at TWS (Texas World Speedway), well, I think I can go faster there too. In fact, I have made A LOT of progress over the last few race weekends with suspension set up, gearing, tires, and confidence that I fully expect to get under two minute lap times at our final event. In fact, at our last MSR Cresson race, I went 4-5 seconds faster that I ever had gone out there at a Track day or previously in a race. Then, this past weekend at OakHill, out of sheer frustration from my struggle with lack of rear tire grip, I threw on a slick in place of the DOT I normally run and I IMMEDIATELY gained 2-3 seconds a lap because of the increased grip it afforded, especially when getting on the gas on the corner exit. (FYI, any of you care to check my facts or times can go to the cmraracing.com website and look under results).

Regarding the other times mentioned about TWS (Texas World Speedway), well, I typically run 10 seconds slower than the fast experts in the same class, which I think is good for a novice in my first year of sprinting on a ~70HP bike with a stock engine. Fast experts on SVs (some with built engines) run in the 1:52-54 range. Fast novices on SVs run in the high 50’s to the 2:00 range. To compare, fast novice guys on 600’s to liter bikes with 100HP or more are only turning laps in the 1:53-1:58 range, and that is with a HUGE horsepower advantage that is greatly favored by a long track like TWS (Texas World Speedway). SO, to run those times on a stock SV is very respectable. In fact, if you care to compare times very closely on smaller tracks like Oakhill and Hallett, I am running as good or better times than half the novice guys on bigger bikes.
But, I encourage you not to get hung up on solely on lap times when evaluating the performance of a rider (me, yourself, or anyone else). Racing is not about one fastest lap. It is about starting well, consistently stringing together 8 good laps through traffic of varying speeds, executing safe/smart passes, patience, and finishing the races… ALL YEAR LONG without mechanicals or crashes. That is how championships are won.

Also, regarding my aforemenentioned “crash” at Oakhill yesterday, it wasn’t really a “crash” at all…LOL… Actually, as it happens, I was leading the race and they guy in second place tried to come underneath me in the bus stop. He didn’t have the clearance required to execute the pass safely and T-boned me on my left side, knocking me off the track. I kept it up in the grass for 50 yards or so until the front wheel went into a rut and sent me flying over the handlebars. It was a pretty low speed deal and I got back up and finished the race. Fortunately neither one of us were hurt and he profusely apologized for the incident afterwards.

Finally, speaking of championships, TWS (Texas World Speedway) will mark the end of the 2006 CMRA Race season. I hope to see many of you out there. Currently, I am in the overall lead in points in the D Superbike class. I am only ONE point ahead of second place and the Championship will come down to that final race. Also, I am second overall in points in the D Susperstock class and third overall in the LW Twins class (but only behind second by ONE POINT!!!). So, it should be an exciting race weekend for me!!! And, let me not forget the fact that it has been a SUPER YEAR for me!!! To think that when this season started, I thought I would be happy with *MAYBE ONE* podium out of the 3 classes I entered. NOW, to be looking at THREE podium finishes and a possible Championship win is almost beyond comprehension!!! I have ALOT of THANKS to give to the LSTD and the Motorcycles Unlimited crews for their support and sponsorship!!!!

Sorry for the long post…. But, I love to talk racing and bikes!!!! :icon_bigg
I'll be checking this board regularly and will chat racing anytime!!!
See ya’ll at the track!!!

suZette
