It's a 1971 M35A2 with super singles.

I both love it and hate it. I bought it on Ebay and drove it 26 hours from Ohio to Texas. It's really good on diesel (or jetfuel, gasoline, veg oil, used motoroil), it gets almost 10mpg, which is better than some pickups. It's got 6 wheel drive and 46" tires and will go just about any where. It's got a ridiculous whistler turbo that will ruin your hearing, courtesy of it's unmufflered single stack.

Unfortunately, giant 7+ liter inline 6 multifuel puts out about 115 horsepower, which will get the 13000# truck up to about 55-60 mph on the highway. Which is way faster than it should ever be allowed to go.

It has a single circuit air over hydraulic drum braking system. There are a ton of places which you can get leaks, and being single circuit, if you have one failure you have no brakes. So yeah, occasionally you'll be driving and you'll lose a brake cylinder, or a hose, or the air pack, or an air line, and you wont have brakes. In a 7 ton vehicle, which laughs at it's own drive shaft parking brake. Very dangerous.

I'm always pulling off 400# tires, and 80# brake drums, to inspect wheel cylinders. Each wheel takes 6 lug nuts that require a 36" 3/4' breaker bar plus like 6 feet of pipe to remove.

I love going beach roaming on it, I hate driving it on the highway or in traffic. Also there is no power steering, there is only brute force and a suicide , which is cool, but tiring.

I don't even know what it costs to fill mine up since the fuel prices started going up dramatically. My last FJ fillup was $57.40 last month or so, my last bike fillup was $14.80 a few days ago. I know I've cut at least 300$ a month on fuel since I've went to bike only on weekdays last year.

Also maintenance costs too. My truck tires are 273$ a piece times four. My bike tires are about 165$ times two. (granted, bike tires don't last 40,000 miles) Truck takes 6 quarts of oil, bike takes 2. On my truck I do transmission services, diff and transfer case oil changes, and ect every few 35,000 miles. The bike just needs chain oiling and new sprockets/chain when they are wore out.

The only thing annoying about the bike is the valve inspection/adjustment every 24,000 miles or so.
