call to action against mandatory motorcycle roadblocks

If u don't want mandatory road blocks in the state of Texas u might want to read and send a letter to ur congressman.. http://capwiz.com/amacycle/home/.
A.m.a has sent this out for all motorcyclist to do if he or she wants too. More voice better chance we have of stopping this bill.

Texas doesn't run checkpoints by and large. Supporting riders in other states is worthwhile though.

This why the a.m.a is urging ppl to send the letter on the website to there reps to stop this discrimination against motorcyclist. Its not fair to us that cars don't have to go through this so why should we be singled out.

I support this effort, but just because the federal government may provide funds for checkpoints doesn't mean that every state will take that money for checkpoints. They are not going to send federal agents to Texas to check for "M" endorsements. They are trying to pay local governments to make local law enforcement set up check points. Texas law makes it very difficult to have a checkpoint, period. So it will likely not affect us, but it will affect motorcyclists in other states.

Edit: I do oppose motorcycle checkpoints, but I wanted to clarify how this will actually work out for us in Texas. Short version: it won't.

Considering how many unlicensed, uninsured riders are out there (not to mention stolen bikes) I'm ok with this, actually.
