That's trooper. He was just messing around and it looks like his knee touched. Last time he tore a hole in his jeans

Trooper (Glen) deserves some credit here too, for helping lead part of the group to the track after the rider went down on the ride.

Thanks man!

If that was the last turn before the pit straight my rear stepped out a touch so I backed off a little. I'm also not comfortable with the CCW direction at GSS, I have always done CW there.

Yeah kinda

BUT, if you saw the area (straight road), and speed we were going (~30mph). you wouldn't have believed me he went down unless you saw the pics.
His mesh jacket didn't even get torn up.

All the noobs did awesome in the corners though...

Not calling him a liar, but watching the video it looks like he may have went in a little hot after I passed him (I am directly behind the camera, he is behind me), grabbed a little too much brake, and lost the front. It also occured to me that he might have had too much pressure for that speed. I know I'm not fast, but I aired my tires down when we got there and did not see anyone else do the same. Now that's a blind statement not knowing what tires he is running or what pressure he has them at cold, but I know street pressure and track pressure are very different.

i had a good time that day, too bad i couldnt stick around longer and join the parade laps, they look like a lot of fun!

this just shows that no matter how well organized a ride is and how good of a job the leader and sweeper is doing or how fast/slow the pace of the ride is, there is no way to tell when, who or where accidents will happen, all we can do is hope nothing happens and everyone makes it home in one piece.

The best you can hope for is to keep one rider from hitting or causing another to crash

You can tell you know the line WELL. I wasn't sure what to expect with the ccw. I had only been on the track once for parade laps and they were cw so was hoping to do my first Trackday the same. By the end of the day though I was having a lot of fun. I also learned (the easy way... someone told me before I blew up my tranny) that downshifting without the clutch though it may feel smooth will eventuality destroy it. Big lesson.

Yeah I will be looking into getting a lighter bike down the road.

Had a great time with the ride. This was my first time coming to MH event. My first time on a group ride and my first time to get on a track. The weather was fantastic and the ride was a lot of fun. Getting to take the bike on the track was also a really great experience.

There were times that I had to play a bit of catch up on the ride but with a group that size I suppose that is the nature of the beast.

Lighter make does make the turn in easier but weight is not a determining factory on a track; ground clearance is. The heavier the bike the further in the corner it needs to come over to make the same corner at the same speed.

Infact there was a busa out there doing a track day. Im sure he has some weight on the vfr.
