Lightbulb SPYWARE HELP...

jsut in case u guys ever run into spyware on your comp and cant get it out your comp, like the constant "your computer is infected by spyware, please buy blah blah blah....", i here is a site that helps u guys out , i got my done just now and it worked pretty awesome, and by the way this is stuff that spybot, adware and mcafee couldnt get...

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
Choose your usual account.

Once in Safe Mode, open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart it into Normal Windows.

this is just the section that helped me out but the whole thing is on here if u guys wanted to read bout it...
http://www.winguides.com/forums/show...ded&sb=3&part=

save urself some format time as much as u can, im pretty sure u guys have some inportant info on ur comps that u guys dont want to lose
rule of thumb, always partion ur harddrive so u can save alll the necessary stuff so when u do have to format u ont lose any saved data that was on on ur comp bc its on the other uninfected drive

I use bearshare along with Ad-Aware SE and i have zero problems. Think i've been going that way for a year now.

Also, with BearShare, i don't allow sharing.

I don't use anything. Haven't had SpyWare on my machine in about two years.

Keep your machine current with the latest security updates. Don't download "free" stuff.
