very cool
are you going to leave the 750 stickers on to give it a steath treatment?

Those were removed when I got the bike. The PO had taken off 1 side 750 decal but not the other. So I took the other off. I was debating on keeping it with just the Katana decals on the front or getting some made that said GSXF12 or Katana 1200 ( think bandit 1200 decals )

That's a great swap; hard to beat the old air cooled Bandit motors.

Now spend some $ on suspension and really embarrass some people... If the frames are the same on the front as the Bandits, you can swap GSXR or Busa USD forks, brakes and wheels.

Once I sell the old parts, that $ is going to the suspension and brakes. Starting with the rear.

Nice modification!

Now, all those people that claim to have a Katana 1200, Ninja 1300, etc., is beginning to make sense.

Now for some bigger rubber in the rear, that 160 wont cut it.....Can you swap the swing arm with something else to get a wheel that'll take a 180?

A Bandit swingarm and wheel can be made to fit, with some spacer bushings fabbed up.

It's nice to see people taking on projects like this, instead of paying someone else to do it.

Good job man!

thanks everyone.

ya i am looking into running a larger rear tire. I have been talking to a guy that widens the stock kat swinger to take a larger wheel. but i would like to find the easiest route lol...

long shot, but does anyone have a bandit valve cover gasket they would sell today? i am starting the removal of the cover to look at the gasket. hopefully its not damaged, but if it is....

yeah, as of right now i've still got the gsxr front and rear end both, as well as the 5.5" bandit rear wheel and an '07 (or '08, can't remember...) GSXR 1k rear shock (huge improvement over the stock bandit piece, don't know if it would fit on the kat).

ST675: let me know if you're interested in seeing if any of that stuff will work for you. i've got tons of parts sitting around and haven't really posted it for sale just yet, but it'll go up before too long.

PM about the old motor. I'd like to have a 4 cylinder air cooled for a dual sport Frankenstein project.
