results of Free Practice 1:

1. capirossi
3. pedrosa
4. melandri
6. hayden
11. rossi

only a 2 second gap between the best lap and the 15th best.

i know rossi is holding back as always. his qualifying laps are always way better than the practices...sneaky, sneaky valentino.

i sense a real nail biter this week!!!

Yeah, busted up his knee pretty good. They said it's a large gash that keeps re-opening when he flexes his knee so he is doubtful for the race.. who knows.

That suxs, I'll admit I'm not a big fan of dani, but man the kid is good. I'm looking forward to the race, outcome undetermined.

qualifying was called off for the sepang race, due to rain. the grid is being determined by the best times from the free practices. as far as i can tell here is what the starting grid will be:

(pedrosa is actually listed as 5th, but i dont think he is racing)

1.rossi
2.hayden
3.capirossi

4. kenny jr
5. gibernau
6. puniet
7.hopkins
8.melandri
9.stoner

this race should really be a hot one!

imo, nicky just needs to chill behind valentino the whole race (being careful to dodge the smoke and impending large chunks of tire. ) and concentrate on a podium finish. if i were nicky i wouldnt get all up on rossi's either, let him get out in front and i'd just have a fun day at the track playing with capirossi.

most likely though, rossi will let someone else lead for a while, and then he heats it up at the end. so at some point i think its going to get thick.

Wow awesome pic! I like Pedrosa, he is good. It still amazes me how small he is!

I think rossy needs to take it easy...not nicky. Rossi HAS to catch up in points, which will make him very agressive knowing Nicky could start 2nd. All Nicky needs to do is stay in the top 3 and he'll keep very ahead
